I don't care what gender you or anyone else is on here. And it's pathetic that you have now resorted to playing the gender card. It makes sense though, because your argument is built on quicksand.

I bet if we asked them they would also think that:

You being a girl has nothing to do with it.

This opinion being stupid and based on anecdotal evidence does.

so is the gorilla to blame or the moron parents?

eta:
an animal is animal.
to expect your dog not to bite ever is fricking idiotic.
the owners shouldn't be trusting the animal as much as they had.

that's my argument.
owner's fault. stop persecuting the breed.

Yes. Because you believe in something that's impossible to prove and ignore the facts, which can be proven.

Ok Darth, all pitbulls are alike. They will all eventually kill.

You happy now?

I never said all pitbulls will kill or even hurt anyone. Most never will hurt anyone.

The problem is some will. And how do to tell which ones will and which ones won’t?

Ok, so now we're getting somewhere...which one of the following statements do you disagree with?

vaccines cause autism

smoking doesn't cause cancer

Parents not watching their kids at a zoo is your analogy to parents owning a pitbull and not supervising playtime? Am I missing something? Because that analogy makes no sense.

This is all anecdotal evidence. Why is it so hard for some people to understand that your personal experiences don't equal all experiences had by everyone? You know how you get that information? No, not talking to your friends. You find statistics and evidence to support your argument. Just because you don't know anyone who's been affected doesn't mean actual facts are irrelevant.

I have over 20 years experience breeding dogs. Sorry if I value my experience over so random guys opinion on the OT.

Nothing is absolute, but the kid said "no dogs should ever be around children". If you need Google to know that's an ignorant statement then I can't help you.

To hell with pitbulls.

Where we once lived the lady down the street had a big baby pit.

It killed every dog on our street before we proved it was the culprit. Even climbed over my fence into the yard to kill my squirrel dog.

Owner claimed it would never hurt a fly until someone actually caught it in the act.

I don't think vaccines cause autism and I believe smoking causes cancer.

And I know where you're taking this.

Just because some people smoke their whole lives and don't get cancer, doesn't mean smoking can't lead to it.

Nobody is arguing this and most would agree with you. With that, isn't even more idiotic to keep an animal capable of that around children?

Wait...you just said "an animal is an animal"...i.e. it's going to do what it's going to do sometimes because it's an animal. A pitbull is a fighting dog, by its nature...so it's going to do what a fighting dog does, no matter what the owner does. But it's the owner's fault for what then if that's the case? You just admitted that it'd be stupid not to expect a pitbull to do what a pitbull does? So therefore owning a pitbull is idiotic because you've also admitted that you can't keep an eye on your dog 100% of the time.

What is wrong with being against these animals as household pets? Do you believe people should be able to have any animal as a pet?

A page or two back, I presented these two facts.

quote:

1) Most pit bulls will never attack a human.

2) Most dog attacks that result in disfigurement or death are caused by pit bulls.

Here is another one.

3) Of all pitbul attacks, most victims are the dogs owner or family member living with the owner.

Guess what all of the owners of the dogs that have attacked humans have in common?

Nevermind then. I thought it was in reference to something else...though I do agree small children should be supervised around medium to large dogs.

everything i've said in every single post has just supported the fact that i don't blame the animal for an attack.

i blame the people or person.
if my dog attacked because of my lack of dog owning skills, i'd expect to be held responsible.

Yea, if I got in a life or death fight with a dachshund I might bleed a little bitty bit but he's going to get his head shoved up his own arse if he tries to eat me. An in shape pit bull might get away with eating me and retaining both his eyeballs.

Pits make fantastic working dogs for catching pigs. They are not pets.

This is what I don’t understand about Pit owners. They are presented with mountains of information on how dangerious this breed is. There is years of reports, stats, and news stories detailing just how dangerious and unpreditable these dogs are. And yet they refuse to accept any of it. Are they that enslaved to their emotions that the logical portion of their mind is totally subservient to their wants to the point of being willing to endanger the lives of themselves and others around them.

Earlier I jokingly compared owing a mountain lion to a pit bull. But it’s a pretty apt comparison. Just as it’s absurdly dangerious to own something like a mountain lion, so to is it absurdly dangerious to own a pit bull. Considering owning one can result in serious injury or even death and there is no warning or way of knowing it was going to happen right up until the second they attack, why even risk it?
