Who in their right mind would pay money for drinks and listen to a,lounge singer? I can’t think of a worse way to spend my time,

The Davenport lounge in the Ritz isn’t a bad way to spend time if you’re dressed up with gorgeous woman. You’re not taking her to a dive bar if she’s looking all fine in a tight dress...take her to the Ritz.

I saw one about 2 months ago. Didn't pay a cover though I did put money in the jar. Good ones are fun to see every once in a while.

used to play in a band, we'd practice every Wednesday night if we didn't have a gig, after practice we'd go over to this little watering hole on the edge of town because they had good food and we knew the owner, they always had a Captain and Tennille type lounge lizard couple singing in there, it was so smarmy and campy, but funny as hell, by the time we got in there, there might be 5-6 people other than us in the lounge, but Cappy and Tennille were singing their hearts out as if they were auditioning for a part on "The Love Boat"
