So in other words, you don’t know how to reply. Just “Ban ARs! Making them illegal will keep anyone from ever having one! No crimes are committed with illegals weapons!”

Do you carry these same beliefs when a shooting occurs in Chicago, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, etc. ? When a shooting occurs in a certain area of town? When a shooting occurs within a certain demographic with a specific perpetrator, or do you only become incensed when a shooting meets a certain criteria?

As to this specific incident, inasmuch as his family members apparently were on scene so quickly, they must've known something was up. Wonder if a different outcome would have resulted if he had tougher treatment regarding his "feeling depressed"?

The scanner stuff mentioned he was on the phone with someone and told them he was feeling suicidal and was going to start shooting. My guess it was either mom or brother for them to get there that fast.

As far as tougher "treatment" for his depression, it again comes down to how do we determine who is actually a potential threat? If its just based on suicidal ideation alone, you're talking about a whole lot of people getting thrown into institutions.

That said, beds are full here in mental health facilites. I'm talking just flat full. We're triaging folks on "are they having an active attempt" because there is no room. I've had to send folks three hours away to get a bed.

I'll be curious to see if he actually even pursued treatment for depression at all. It's not uncommon for someone of his demo to not pursue mental health treatment in the first place. And there's an inordinate amount of hoops to jump through to have someone detained for a 72 hour hold.

So you would like for me to just ignore that you want to disarm innocent individuals when even the Federal Government themselves say "banning ARs had no measureable effect".

Nah. Get screwed. I will not agree to disagree with you.

That area is turrible. MLK is a few blocks away and there are tons of President streets there.

They also have a street 1 block over called N. Floyd St. I think they should at least call him George.

Ban ARs.

The top 10 all have far stricter gun laws than the US

US doesn't even show up until #14, and it's the usual suspects.

Also, blunt objects were used in more US killings last year than were rifles.

You can always tell the people who just regurgitate what they've seen from others from people who can form solid arguments.

When you have someone just vomit trendy buzzwords and phrases then runs off before he can defend himself or answer any questions, then you know you're just dealing with a common idiot. He'll run back to reddit and talk about how he "PwN3D" conservatives on a message board.

Not really. Guns are part of their culture. They have one of the highest rates of gun ownership in the world and no mass shootings.

Compare that to neighboring France which has more shootings and when they do, people get slaughtered because not even the street cops there have guns.

So it ain't the guns, chief.

Also, this:

We have 350 million people. At any one time we have 10% that are mentally ill. 35 million wackos. You will never get that out of population. Guns may make it easier for them but it also makes it easier to protect yourself from these wackos. The quickest way to stop a threat is with a gun. 1 wacko has a gun and 7 conceal carry have a gun. Wacko is down quick. Place I’m at now, we are sitting ducks. You break in my house and I mow you down. You break in neighbors house and he waits 15 minutes for cops while you kill/rape his whole family.

well let me clarify, you're not going to stop every threat or incident. If he snapped, he snapped. But I do think there plenty of people who either need to be incarcerated or given a swift kick in the arse to get their shite together. And if they're still "woe is me, I dont want to live", lock them up.

To your point tho, I don't know if that was the case with this guy. He may have just gone bat shite this morning.
