It’s always ironic to me how this board is so conservative, supposed to be for limited government, and yet consistently they are completely fine with a police officer overextending their power.

Once someone gives themself up/is apprehended, the cop has no right to force of any nature. Doesn’t matter what happened to precede the arrest. Cops don’t get to decide that someone needs “punished”. How about the cop does their job and let’s the legal system do the rest, like they are supposed to. Crazy concept

Either these videos are spliced together horribly or I'm missing something because I went through three videos and didn't see one punch. I see Greene refusing to get out of the car then when he is on the ground curling into a ball on his knees instead of laying flat then refusing to put his hands behind his back for some time. They were definitely rough with him but I don't see a beating that would cause death. And the "use of force" expert is wrong, cops are trained that a cuffed suspect on their stomach is the SAFEST position for all involved becasue they can't kick, punch, bite, spit or run. The recovery postion is used for after they are unconcious. He's talking out of his arse and obviously has an agenda.

How do you feel about the cops lying on the report and to the family?

This just isn’t accurate. If you watch the video, at first he’s sitting on his butt or knees and it’s necessary for them to put him on the ground despite his verbal pleas. He could be lying to the officers then reach for a gun or other weapon while their guard is down according to you.

I don’t agree with the force they continued to use in this case but it should be evaluated on a case by case basis

Worst cover up attempt ever?

“Oh shite, he crashed into a tree at 115 mph. Let’s hit him with the stun gun!”

So not only are/were those guys shite cops, they’re also actual retards

Conservatism is about more than limited government. Trump wasn’t elected because he believed in small government. Cultural conservatism is now the primary driver of conservative political thought.

I know nothing about that. I'm just going off the videos in the article. They shouldn't have lied if they did. The cover-up is always worse than the crime.

I mean the cops bragged about beating him so hard that blood was flying everywhere and he arrived DOA according to the medical examiner so I’m gonna go with yes.

It seems the guy after being caught gave himself up without a fight and the cops took it way too far. A very aggressive arrest was warranted, but after he was no longer a threat, that should have been it and he should have seen his day in court.

Trying to convince the ot that cops aren't judge, jury, executioner is like trying to convince a dog that catching a ball isn't fun.

Ain't gonna happen around these parts baw.

I shifted several years ago and after what we experienced Jan 6 I can tell you that there’s been a huge awakening bc cops are NOT on your side just because you chant back the blue. And this shift was long overdue.

To be fair, most cops/friends of cops/relatives to cops fly the punisher/cop logo on vehicles or shirts.

Not knowing that punisher is a legit borderline villain who murders characters in marvel comics and acts as judge with no respect for the law. There's a reason spiderman and punisher outright hate one another.

The irony is astounding.

Judging these events with a broad brush of "the cop is always right", or "the 'victim' is always right", is an issue that a lot of people have.

Each of these incidents should be looked at on a case by case basis.

He was wrong to flee and they killed him for a non capital offense. I know one of the state cops dads in Monroe. I feel for his loss, but feel worse for the barber killed by his crazy cop kid.

To the dude in jail. Good. frick you.

Exactly. If you’re gonna justify whatever abuses cops dole out to someone they’re arresting bc the victim “played stupid games...” then that should apply to cops when they break the law and abuse their power. Cops know what they’re not allowed to do so they should be fired, arrested and sued bc they too “played stupid games”.

Louisiana State Police is the perfect embodiment of the corruption, cronyism, and ineptitude that holds the state of Louisiana back.

He was murdered.

His surrendering after the high speed chase makes the beating unnecessary.

Going to be another George Floyd

And the cops deserve to be arrested when they break the law too. Hopefully the cops arresting them decide they deserve an arse whooping as well.
