This is Honor Code extorting businesses to pay off the medical industry and trial attorneys.

The fact that the “press” play along is gross and despicable.

Until there's a constitutional convention to get rid of the list of items which are not subject to funding cuts, the state will continue to operate like this. Nothing should be immune to cuts.

Except in New Orleans, there's no problems there, just ask the people that live there they'll tell you.

Fault?

Fear is the #1 strategy to get people to vote on new taxes.

I don't think people are saying there's no problem, I think it's people just pointing out out the fact that there are actually lots of things to do in New Orleans to not worry as much about problems, especially when compared to bumfrick

My wife works at a nursing home. Over 100 residents will get evicted and the nursing home will lay off approximately 70% of the staff if something isn't done.

My wife told me it is an existing 1 cent sales tax that expires. I don't know for sure though but every time I argue with her she is always right.

No, this is 8 years of expecting tax breaks to reap benefits down the road that never materialized. The same crisis is happening in Kansas as well. Outdated conservative economic principles that don't work.

The state would have to get approval from federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and nursing homes residents can appeal the state's request, Tucker said. If the state's request is approved, the state would have create plan to relocate Medicaid recipients

So not out on the streets. Is the media LYING??

She is correct. It was a temporary tax meant to bridge the gap and now it's time for it to go away

So, nothing to do with raising a shite ton of taxes and doing nothing to touch spending whenever we have a deficit. Got it.

Highest sales tax in the nation, tons of other taxes collected as well, yet there is never enough money.

That isn’t a revenue problem, that is a fricking spending problem.

It costs money to subsidize, buy votes from, and jail the welfare class.

Subsidies don't grow on trees. #iammedicaid
