The Harahan Police Department posted a warning on Facebook Saturday alerting residents that their crystal meth may be contaminated with the Zika Virus. And, along with the warning they are offering a service to check residents’ meth.
They said, “If you have recently purchased meth in any area of Louisiana it may be contaminated with the Zika Virus. Please bring all of it to your local Police Department and they will test it for free.”
However, they added, for those who are not comfortable bringing meth to the precinct, they are more than happy to send an officer to your home to test your drugs “in the privacy of your own home.”

Does anybody ever really fall for this?

I think people actually do fall for this stuff.

Dropping the term like hot rail makes me 95% sure you aren’t joking

They do. On I59 between Meridian and Laurel the police sometimes put up a sign warning of a drug checkpoint several miles ahead. They then wait at the very rural, unused next exit and stop the cars that exit. Have seen that one several times, always with cars stopped at the foot of the exit.

I remember BRPD sending out a “You won a free TV!” mailed to everyone in EBR Parish with a felony warrant years ago. They set up a Rewards Redemption Office in a strip mall off of Florida Blvd and made over 100 arrests. It was on the news and was pretty funny.

You'd think not, but remember they're focusing on meth users. It's not a population group known for flawless decision making.

I hope they do a follow-up on this if they arrest even one person

Further proof that progressives are truly mentally handicapped. She’s worried that this can “start rumors”. OK. Let’s say this starts a rumor among the meth head community that meth can give them the Zika virus. What’s the worst thing that can happen? The meth heads not smoke as much meth?
What a tragedy.
