Cities can have their own "rules" or whatever that people have to follow. Look at New Orleans, they aren't allowing outdoor dining, although the EO allows for it starting Friday.

City Disaster orders are even trickier, though. They have less power and can be rescinded by city councils pretty easily.

I'd rather not have Cantrell and Broome making these decisions.

The GOP would be wise to try and use this to leverage JBE into loosening his restrictions instead of out-right nullifying it out the gate.

I actually agree with this, but if JBE doesn't come to the table or meet agreeable terms, they have to use it.

Correct.

An out-right nullification is going to maximize risk and will shift the entire responsibility of the consequences on the GOP.

It's all political and I think this speaks to the point more that JBE is being driven here by someone that isn't from Louisiana.

You really don’t want this to happen. You can say it.

Yeah and? You think that’ll change how the state votes?

The point here is getting people back to work sooner. Keeping people relying on themselves and each other rather than a government handout. That’s worth the political backlash.

I really, really want a Phase I opening. It's due.

I would be extremely nervous about a full-blown reopening.

He could but then the GOP would have a golden opportunity to control the narrative. They tried to reason with Edwards and he refused to budge which made the Legislator have to take drastic action to save the Louisana economy. Open it up and pin him for the consequences.

You are correct Sir.
We all need to call, email our representatives frequently to let them know the overwhelming support they have for doing this.
If you're stuck at home, take the time.
It's worth it.
Edwards needs backlash...now.

Is there a less likely knight in shining armor than the Louisiana Legislator.

The group is filled with democrat pieces of shite combined with a fair number of pretend republicans.

There is zero chance this can happen.

You realize that your political games aren’t the point? Both sides will try to control narrative regardless. Doesn’t matter what actually happens; the ping pong ball goes back and forth and will continue to do so. What’s more important is getting the state and money moving again. The sooner that happens the better.

It says they MAY establish that period of time. Would be politically smart of them to punt it back to JBE until he comes up with a less restrictive plan.
