So now the GFS, ICON, and Canadian all agree on one hell of an ice storm complete with single digit or near single digit lows and around the same time.

I wonder if the EURO will cave tonight or stand it’s ground and give us shorts weather

GFS

Canadian

ICON

They're not perfectly in sync as far as the time but a week out thats pretty damn consistent as far as the event and general location goes. Think this is by far the most in sync any model runs have been to this point.

Right. This far out the key is to have them only be close - not precise.

So when do the models show this starting? Once we get below freezing when does BR come above?

The NWS is starting to come around slowly, as they should. Check the NWS forecast for Baton Rouge and surrounding areas...

David Paul on KHOU has an good take on what is going on though, old model data from yesterday but it's a good explanation nonetheless

I can’t watch that right now since my sleeping wife is next to me. She’s a different person when awoken unexpectedly, such as with a hand creeping into her panties. Don’t ask me how I know.

cliff:

main point is that since the arctic air is so shallow that the models are having trouble grasping on the extent of it, it's less than 1000ft up

Yep, that’s exactly why our event may be only freezing rain. It’s going to melt on the way down and freeze on contact.

Try going in the back. She likes that.

Whats my worst case and most likely scenario for south shore of New Orleans? Need to know what to prepare the yard for. Its all tropical so will take some serious prep if nola gets sub 20. The palms are my biggest concern.
