I think the cold air is further south than what GFS and EURO are picking up but maybe thats changing now.

Yea, that's a big change for the Baton Rouge area with that large shift southward.

Remember, don't focus on the exact line the models show, reality can be different by miles, sometimes hundreds, when it comes to wintry precip. In fact, most of the time it is. shite, the precip type on the radar, which uses model data is usually wrong. Local storm reports are important so I would definitely recommend downloading the mPing app to your phone to report precip types to the NWS.

AccuWeather is still on the snow train from BR to Hammond.

I hope that pans out over ice bc that would definitely knock out power for a long while.

Well Accuweather is bullshite.

Nobody in the Baton Rouge area will see snowflakes out of this. The cold air is TOO SHALLOW for snow to fall. It's barely going to be deep enough for sleet but chances are the entire Baton Rouge area sees 99% rain/freezing rain only.

Not during snow. If you get enough ice, trees and limbs will come down and take out power lines. Won't know if/when/where until it starts falling.

Advantage SWLA. Laura and Delta took out all the tree limbs.

Given the amount of rain/freezing rain coming Wednesday, you need to be ready to be without for an extended period.

just as a bit of good news for this, for north LA, if we get ice on Wednesday, it looks like we will warm back up above freezing on Thursday, so that should help tremendously

ice on Monday would be very bad considering it will stay below freezing till Thursday

so if we must get ice, Wednesday would be the best day for it
