Only thing worse than LA roads is that ghey 'thunder' song they keep playing during football games.

It seems like a no brainer to legalize marijuana but you know, it’s basically as bad as crack. I thought with a Democrat, “progressive” governor it would be a little easier, but he has no interest in doing anything but complain about how destitute our economy is. He doesn’t actually want to fix it.

That would be a waste of time, casino gambling was supposed to pump millions of dollars into LA's decrepit education system. It didn't fix the educations system, and the moneys gone, same thing would happen to any revenue created by legalizing marijuana. The state is the Titanic, and they have been doing nothing but rearranging deck chairs for the last 40 years.

Any half assed educated resident of this state can clearly see that the large quantity of taxes collected is either being squandered away,or grossly misspent.

I know it is late and I have tried not to respond to this thread for hours. However, I must tell you that I spent decades representing the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and further was a member of the National Transportation Research Board and a federal highway/railway group. I have never been to a meeting, driven on a road, looked at a map, dined with engineers, attended a conference, or studied a construction project wherein it was not generally acknowledged by all concerned that Louisiana had the worst roads in the country. A total disgrace when you consider that Louisiana is the most industrialized state in the Old South. It is all essentially the result of our corrupt politics. At least in New York and Florida when you paid the politicians for a contract to build a road, the citizens got a decent road (for probably 3 times the price), but it lasted for a while.

that is one piece of the 2 piece puzzle. Louisiana is on some of the worst soil in the world to build on.

It's because half the damn state is supporting the other half. Don't have time to fix roads when Carlos has 42 fricking kids we have to pay for.

Arkansas roads are worse than Louisiana. And Louisiana's roads aren't as bad as a lot of places. On the whole the entire country has really shitty infrastructure. It's sad. I blame liberals.

Every election the dumb arse voters in this state pass a constitutional amendment to dedicate funding to some stupid project. For example, the library system can have so much money they start building huge libraries that lend out paintings because they don’t know what to do with all their damn money

Then we all sit around and bitch where did all the money go...these people can’t manage the money given to them. No they can’t, because we dedicated everything!
