And just a reminder that many of these counted as hospitalizations are asymptomatic and incidental cases as described here

There were 2,350 in the hospital when the mask mandate was implemented.

There are 829 less people now in the hospital, yet the mandate remains.

The mandate has nothing to do with data since it was implemented after the Rt was already below 1 and falling. Not that masks have any impact anyway.

That's because Honor Code made us mask up and saved our lives. Bow to the King.

I know, i just feel the need to point it out in every single thread. For some reason masks werent needed when we had 1500 in the hospital when hospitals were spiking, but we need it still when they're free falling.

Just wait until the hurricane shelter surge hits in a few days. You will rue the day Ida visited.

Your idiot Govn'r is going to attribute that massive drop in hospitalizations to the effectiveness of the mask mandate.

Last 4 weeks Covid Hospitalizations have decreased by 1501!

That is a avg decrease of approximately 63 people PER DAY!

Without more context, this could be used to argue that the mandate has worked.

No way the government would use the inflated numbers to attempt to scare and manipulate the public. They care about us.

Facts are facts, bub. Year round masking is the only thing that makes sense.

And we need state issued ones that have a color meter on the outside to show the inspectors if you have exceeded the safe allowable time.

Fines should be substantial to ensure compliance.

no context is needed. everyone in these threads know about the Rt and the fact that it was dropping well before the mandate.

it's been rehashed enough by now if you don't know about it your head has been in the sand.

You missed the whole Rate of Transmission debate we were having at the time. When JBE instituted the mask mandate, the cases had either already turned the corner and started decreasing or was about to. Obviously there was going to be a lag as to when the hospitalizations would start decreasing.

The delta variant spread like wildfire but also just as quickly burned its self out. The hospitalizations # are mirroring the same pattern.
