I certainly think you have a valid argument……of course the crazies will never agree.

article after the massive shift in priority

It was for the treatment of Crigler-Najjar syndrome. But that's doesn't really matter.

It was all about the delivery mechanism.

And I wonder if mRNA tech will be a big contributor to that...hmmmm

Adults are talking.

It will be the mechanism, unless all out gene therapy is allowed.

Ironically, it will likely be advanced quite a few years by the largest set of human trials on history... The SARS "vaccine".

I didn’t see anything in there about rats developing cancer or cancer as a result of nanoparticle lipids. I’m not disputing it, but just commenting that I haven’t seen it yet.

As it relates to the lipid nanoparticles, wasn’t it a breakthrough in that technology that made the vaccine successful where previous attempts at mRNA medicines had failed?

I’ve read briefly (not in depth) that Pfizer and moderna are both accused of ripping off the guy that developed delivery system for the mRNA vaccines.

It is. And the LNPs are likely why the the mRNA vaccines were so effective against original COVID. Their inflammatory properties actually enhanced their efficacy.

quote:

Of note, their higher efficacy probably relies on activation of different inflammatory pathways exacerbated by direct cellular toxicity. The inflammatory properties of these LNPs’ should certainly be further exploited as an adjuvant platform in combination with proteins, subunit vaccines, or even in combination with existing attenuated vaccines (Bernasconi et al., 2021; Debin et al., 2002; Martins et al., 2007; Shirai et al., 2020; Swaminathan et al., 2016). LNPs, unlike other adjuvants, could thus serve a dual purpose, as both delivery vehicles for different cargos and as an adjuvant. However, it will be necessary to strike a balance between positive adjuvant and negative inflammatory properties as LNP-associated vaccines move forward. Since vaccine doses utilized in rodents are much higher than those used in humans(Nair and Jacob, 2016), detailed dose response studies will be required.

How many days from the date La dropped below 1 on the estimated Rt before hospitalizations began decline?

Rt went from 1.01 to .96 between August 5th and 6th.

Which is also the day the 7 day average peaked in cases.

Rt is a leading indicator.

The recent spike has caused a big jump in vaccinations

What was the percentage jump in Louisiana to cause this rapid decline in hospitalizations?

Vaccinations over the last couple months havent done shite but will help months down the road

Delta is almost finished burning through LA

Thus this wave is nearing its denouement

Recent vaccinations won’t really have much of an effect on the immediate decline in hospitalizations. They are more likely to reduce the population susceptible to hospitalization during the next wave.

They must have hind casted that some what. I remember it getting below around 8/12. I think they may have adjusted the estimated value when more actual data came in.

We peaked 2 weeks ago

It takes time for hospitalizations to come down

Yep. This is ending because it’s running out of people to infect. Just like delta did in India without anyone vaccinated. Sharp spike, swift decline.

I'm really hoping that with some advancements in treatment this time around, we see more rapid recoveries and a more rapid wind down in hospitalized patients.

I'm hoping we are well under 1000 by the end of September (without a mass number of deaths).

I have it going up at least on cases and deaths.
