That huge chunk was forced onto Medicaid when Dumbell Edwards expanded Medicaid 2 weeks into his first term. There are lots of self employed tradesmen that were forced onto this from their previous insurance. I did not want to take Medicaid, but unless I was going to pay $2400 monthly, I had too. It simply would not be right to force someone to take something because a plan they were forced on to now suddenly requires it.

Now for the professional gubberment moochers, that's a different story. However, how do you separate the sheep from the goats?

Your immature schtick is pathetic. I've seen you post on other forums like when you were complaining like a little girl that your stimulus didn't come in (poor bastard).

I'm sure it is multi-faceted, but what is all of a sudden causing steep incline? It's just seems to defy logic that right at the beginning of January there is a huge peak...then a seemingly just as abrupt and sharp decline...only to now have a ridiculous incline seemingly out of nowhere? I doubt there were hundreds of big group orgies being held in LA on the 4th of July, so why all of a sudden?

I anticipate the argument would be it was sky-high in Jan. 2021 because that is the normal height of cold/flu season. But then it dropped tremendously because the vaccine became widely available. And now it is rising because all of those unvaccinated people are getting sick. But wouldn't the unvaccinated be at just as big a risk in Feb-June? Yet, the numbers plummeted? And wouldn't all of those who have been vaccinated be at a minimal risk because of it?

Or is it that media/social media panic stokes a domino effect of fear...which leads to a greater number of people visiting the doctor to be tested...which leads to a greater number of positive results all of a sudden?

For example, I'm sure all of us have been ill with a cold, flu, common respiratory illness, sinus infection, at some point in our lifetimes. But many times we did not go to the doctor to get a confirmatory test of the rhinovirus, influenza, etc. We knew we had a cold. We took over the counter medication to alleviate the symptoms. And in 3-7 days we were "better".

But now, vaccinated or not. Symptomatic or not. Thousands are immediately running to the doctor for a test at the slightest hint of a cough, runny nose, sore throat, etc to see if we have the "big C". And those test may be producing positive results even if someone isn't "sick" or they are detecting remnants of a previous infection. Thus, the number of positive cases skyrockets because the number of tests skyrocket because we've been conditioned to think ANY symptom could mean covid and we need to confirm that...even if there is no "cure".

All jokes aside, you need psychiatric help. I would be shocked if you weren’t bipolar. Don’t frick around with it, can be treated and managed.

More stupidity on this board
The vaccine will eradicate it
Since it appears that will never happen unless employers require it than the pandemic will likely never go away
COVID is here to stay

It's a great question. United Kingdom asked the same questions. Their cases began to rise sharply in June. Experts were predicting they would hit 100,000/day. Maybe even 200,000. It peaked at 56,000 day and now new cases have dropped for a week straight. I'm hopeful the same thing will happen here but we probably aren't there yet. Two weeks behind the UK would be a good thing.

These same people pay nothing for healthcare already and you expect them to pay a fee for not being vaccinated. Poor health decisions on their part pre-Covid are actually why they are having trouble with Covid.

We have an obesity epidemic in the poor community. That on the surface seems to be a contradiction. My biggest pet peeve for this whole thing is how we disregard the best cure for Covid. MAKE HEALTHIER LIFE CHOICES!! We have had a YEAR AND A HALF to do it but no most would rather rely on a shot that takes care of a specific problem but leaves the overarching problem unresolved.

Exactly! Talking about a fee or copay for not getting vaccinated while not also including smoking, obesity, etc... is flat-out retarded. And that will never happen because, you know...racism.

I don’t recall that. Each time I got a stimulus it was on time.

Is this deaths, or just infections?

Because I don't care about infections, if deaths aren't up significantly.

At that point, it is like the flu. Death rates are the only important statistic.

The weird thing is, in January I knew of and had heard of tangentially lots of people still getting covid.

However, I've not heard of a single individual since maybe late February. So, who are these people?

The theme I'm seeing regarding "seasonality" - when the temperatures are nice, the cases are low. Since COVID is mostly airborne aerosols, it makes sense that indoors there would be a higher PPM of COVID particles.

The cold temperatures of winter forcing people indoors to stay warm.

The 90+ temperatures of summer forcing people indoors to stay cool.
