Is your information a month old? How are hospitalizations going down but the most at risk group is currently getting pummeled? Everything indicates they already got pummeled weeks ago.

Well we got pounded beginning the end of March. SOME of our people went to the hospital either by staff shipping them out or by family request. We still have a couple out -- one is at LTAC a couple of hours away from our facility as that was the only one who would take her.

My point being that the pummeling may not necessarily be seen in hospitalization numbers.

they are in the nursing home, no admissions to hospital unless it can’t ge cared for at nursing facility

Trust me. I hate both political sides so it isn’t political. It is just reality. It coincides with huge number of tests. But even both sides agree that this can be devastating to an elderly person with comorbidities

Exactly what happened in the facility where I consult OR if the family requested that they be transferred out.

Well, what's the appointment for? I'd rather my mom see someone who has recovered from it than someone who we didn't know if they'd had it. Actually, if it was more than just a normal visit, I'd want her to go regardless. I mean some things can't be put off or rather shouldn't be put off.

Can she do tele med if it makes you/her feel better?

She has two things going on. MdDS (which is actually going to be a visit at a different specialist), but more importantly she wants to get her thyroid checked out.

She's had a lump in her throat feeling for quite some time. It could be stress or could be thyroid.

I wish she could just get the blood work drawn elsewhere for now, but if it's no risk at her doctor's office then that's fine. I'm slightly concerned because the doc and her employees had the coronavirus. They just opened back up last week. I realize when they got it they had no idea and weren't taking the precautions they are now.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

This is exactly the doctor you want to see.
They are immune.

Yeah, I apologize for my ignorance on the matter.

It looks like they are taking as many precautions as possible including wearing a suit.

I just wanted to get some outside perspective. It should definitely be okay.

I appreciate the OT not eating me alive for my concerns.

Hope she's ok -- is/was she nervous about it or is it more of you being worried? My parents have issues .. dad has two working arteries (the other two are blocked and can't be fixed with a stent OR a bypass redo) and my mom seriously has >10 stents, diabetes and is a little heavy. I'd be concerned BUT I'd be more concerned about a lump. If this was my mother's docs office and they'd had it already, I'd definitely encourage her to go.

Again, hope she's ok!
