Ochsner health, across all of our system, has only 55 covid patients right now....

Wasnt there a place on the dashboard that showed how many hospitalizations per area or parish?

Over 120 hospitalizations in less than a week. I wonder what areas are seeing the heaviest increases?

I feel sure that most are people that are in the hospital for other issues & tested positive

It shouldn’t be that hard to determine WITH Covid & FROM Covid

The Lake Charles, Lafayette, Central LA, and Shreveport regions have more than 1/2 of the covid hospitalizations in the state.

Lafayette and Shreveport each have more Covid hospitalizations than Br or NO. Shreveport has about as much as BR and NO combined.

Are doctors still putting people on vents often? I’ve heard it’s counter productive in a lot of instances.

Lake Charles and Lafayette

Lake Charles Area (Region 5) has increased from 26 to 51 since June 24. Lafayette (Region 4) has increased from 79 to 124 over the same time frame. Region 5 is the highest it has been and Region 4 is one away from it. Region 5 is at 60% ICU Capacity while Region 4 is at 75% ICU capacity. Remember, these are multi parish numbers, not just the cities of LC and Lafayette.

Is it just me or has there not been enough of a connection between the increase in cases and the enormous crowd sizes in these riots? Everyone was predicting they would cause a spike in the case numbers...and now that we see it...I don't see much talk of it. And there's all the talk about how a large number of the cases are from people in their 20's...coincidentally the same age group as the majority of the clowns in these "protests"...yet the media hyping the narrative it's from people going to bars

luckily i doubt we have to worry about another shutdown. but phase 3 is definitely no time soon. the chilis/no hospitalizations by july/packed tiger stadium crowd should at least have time to come to grips w what the fall is actually going to look like

One question:

Are "Cases" positive tests not individuals?

Ex. I test positive = 1 "case"
2 weeks later I get tested again so I can go back to work but still positive - Is "Cases" still 1 or now 2 "Cases"

The sad part of data is that these decision makers will pick on the attribute that will suit them.

In this case, they won't look at percentage of cases or the hospitalization rate.

They will probably move back to phase 1 static the rise of new cases. I feel america as a whole has weak leadership

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Good fricking post.

Because they are including any positive tests as hospitalizations even if they are hospitalized for an unrelated reason.

I think the narrative that the protests were exempt from causing spread is utter bullshite.

But I think the biggest reason is that areas that didn’t see significant numbers in April are seeing them now.

This is lower than what ICU capacity usually is without Covid. It’s not increasing because of Covid. It’s increasing because hospitals are getting busy again. Some procedures require ICU stay overnight or a few days.

Why not just tell us how many freaking people have and had the god damn virus?

Is "recovered" cases individual people? If so that is dumb..

Why don't they tweet the positive test rate like they did yesterday?
