Are people just getting tested for the hell of it? If not, a 5% positive rate for people that think they have the virus is crazy low.
Testing is free at a lot of places
People in LA love free shite, will line up 30 cars deep at taco bell for a single free doritos taco

Good evidence that kids under 10 are shitty vectors
Yeah. Kids aren’t spreading the virus. Thats why they need to open up school and get rid of the 14 day quarantine bullshite

Daycares for kids under 5 are going full steam no masks or distancing

almost 24,000 tests...weird how the local news forgot to include that detail

At least open the damn playgrounds.
Lotta milfs need to be scoped out to see how them quarantine bodies are doing.

Is it just me or has there not been enough of a connection between the increase in cases and the enormous crowd sizes in these riots?
There were no riots in Lafayette, Lake Charles and Shreveport. You can put that talking point away.

It wouldn if it's constant, daily turnover.
If it were constant daily turnover the total number would stay the same. It isn't.
If there were 500 hospitalized and 20 came in today then left tomorrow the number would stay 500. Instead it is going to 520...then 540...560...
And people are dying, presumably while hospitalized, so those have to be calculated into the total number as well.

As if there's a choice My toddler is impossible to keep a face covering of any kind on. She is not alone.

Getting tested because they were exposed to someone who had it. We have people at work that have to be tested if they were in contact with someone who tested positive.

Over 120 hospitalizations in less than a week. I wonder what areas are seeing the heaviest increases?
Acadiana is for sure, we just shutdown our office for a week bc hospitals are seeing a rise in covid patients
ETA: I'm sitting in a clinic right now waiting on results from rapid test for my 6 year old son who is having trigger finger surgery tomorrow.
This test wasn't free for me, I guess bc it's a rapid response, in 20 mins I get the results, $50 at urgent care

But today’s New Case Rate with whopping 23,874 tests released is just 4.25%.
Yeah, the rate isn't skyrocketing, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the rate go up.
It is an odd metric though. To keep below the mythical 7% you need 93% of people to go take a test that aren't infected.
That's like asking would you rather 100% of 1000 cases or just 65 out of those 1000 cases because it looks better.

Are these positive results active infection only or do they include people that have antibodies?

Some good, some bad. Almost 24,000 tests. Wow.
Overall still manageable and not spiking out of control.
If we as a population act responsibly we can continue to eliminate imposed restraints.

I believe only active cases.
I haven't seen anything reported from the LDH on antibodies. Not sure if they are involved in any study trying to figure out antibody/IFR.

Covid nasal swabs. Not antibody tests

23,000 fricking test, and the only thing local news apps highlight is the 1,000 new cases. Talkl about one hell of a data dump
It is absolutely insane the way this data is being reported here and elsewhere. fricking Democrats for you.
