As long as you're not poor, the shitty parts of the state don't matter.

For every upper east side, there is a south bronx.

Cause that should be enough to overlook all the other shitty parts of the state.
and you could cook great food at home in a house as opposed to eating it in a trailer

I don't think the state is all that pretty in terms of scenery or geography.

NOLA is the most interesting city in the country

LA is 49th in many ways but I doubt it will remain that way. The state is starting to get in its groove.

Lol! I just used St. Tammany as an example because I live here.

Please go on about this culcha that St. Tammany parish has and describe how it provides a safe, thriving, and prosperous environment for your children to grow up in when compared to the likes of other suburbs like Round Rock, TX; Frisco, TX; Folsom, CA; Alpharetta, GA; Kent, WA; Eagan, MN; Woodlands, TX; etc?

can you hunt moose ?
fish for salmon

there are a lot of places where you can enjoy the outdoors. And even if LA is the best of the best. That a very limited benefit

there is good food here as well.

SWLA rice country is beautiful
the Texas Hill County is gorgeous
Utah is breathtaking
California has redwoods
you see how this could go...

May not be for everyone for my interest i wouldnt move anywhere else (lived a few diff states in early 20s)
Basketball is my fav sport and i live close enough to have season tix at lsu and pellies.
lsu football experience is tops in country.superdome holds plenty big games.
in 20 min i can be on the river riding.
All kind of festivals and events that people come from all over for are right next to me.

When i lived in ny had some friends come down with me on a visit home and 2 of thek ended up moving to la they liked it so much

They matter if you are a nurse. Nurses from other parts of the U.S. don't move to LA for the amazing job opportunities. Nurses are paid dogshit in LA and the rest of the south compared to other parts of the country.

Well St Tammany is close to New Orleans while offering all of the same luxuries as the places you listed. It definitely has the best restaurant scene.

It actually has a little culture unlike hellholes such as the woodlands.

Yrp this is the OT. It's 95 percent BS. But I stand by my statement even if it has nothing to do with the thread

It really is. Flat land and a bunch of trees. With some bayous and swamps thrown in. After living in AZ and visiting Utah and California I def prefer the West and the variety of mountains, desert, redwoods, canyons, red rocks, rolling hills of wine country, cliffs along pacific coast highway, etc. That is more pretty scenery to me than a swamp.

Why do people believe that this is a top state? Probably at the bottom of the lower 48.

I do too, but it's a very dysfunctional place. A lot of people who don't get around much don't realize what a state that actually works relatively efficiently is like.
