I’m sorry for your loss.

I not sure I know who this is.

Jim Taylor was the fullback on the Lombardi championship teams at Green Bay. A really tough guy. Number 31.

Very sad.
He goes to our church. GREAT guy, LOVED LSU, and was in good health from what I knew. Anyone know what happened?

Many LSU fans don't realize how much he meant to the Green Bay Packers as well.
I didn't either until a tour of Lambeau in 08.
He's on Lambeau Field's Ring of Honor.

I go to church with him and his wife.
He was a very humble, gentle man.
I remember talking to him once about sports in general and even with all he had accomplished in football, he loved to talk about playing HS basketball. He was offered schollys to play in college but stuck to football.
My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Helen and his family.

I found his sophomore thru senior yearbooks one time at an estate sale. He was barely mentioned on the football pages, but he was in nearly every basketball photo, talking about his great play.

Probably natural causes. He was 83 and there was no announced illness.

Number 31.

I got a football jersey for Christmas when I was a boy that had material for numbers to add onto it. My grandmother cut out the 31 numbers and sewed them on. I wore that thing until it was a rag.

RIP Jim Taylor

I picked up a signed copy of his “ A Fire Within” book at the goodwill for $1.99 two weeks ago.

Word was dementia was setting in. Don't know if that was related but he had just gone to the hospital on the Tuesday prior.

I don't get why his death is almost an afterthought on this place, over on the rant they give Heismans for HS commits, immortalize transfer qbs and flash in the pan players, hell, Big Lee gets more recognition around here and maybe the only part of him that ever went to LSU was his ashes, this man walked the walk, a truly great Tiger
