I am usually a lurker on TD other than a few shite head comments here and there.
I have noticed lately a few threads about posters putting their pets down or really sick pets and usually pass those by as losing a pet sucks and man I can't deal with that.
Today was my day to get my arse kicked my beautiful baby girl 7 year old German Shepherd had to be put down and this fricking sucks big time such a sweet little baby she was.
To all who have lost the best friend my heart felt sympathies. If I knew how to post pics my beautiful girl would break your hearts love your pups cause they can be gone from you at anytime .

I’m very sorry for your loss
We don’t deserve dogs, they are truly too good for us
I hope that your happy memories will help you get through your grief

Take solace in knowing you gave your dog quality, not quantity. It is the worst. I have had to do this for three of mine through the years. I currently have an 11 year old Golden with Stage 3 CHF and pulmonary hypertension. When I adopted him four years ago, no one thought he’d live a year. The next time he declines, I have no other choice but to end his misery. Vet thinks it will be within the next year.

That unconditional consistent love we get from our pets is so important to a happy life. This is a good place filled with good people
I hope you find a little comfort in knowing all of us who have lost a pet know all too well your loss and mourn with you

My heart goes out to you.
My best buddy is 12 and his back legs have started to give out. He’s the first and only dog I’ve had as an adult. The foreshadowing haunts me.

Sounds crazy maybe or maybe crazy to non dog people but do what you have to do to be with your buddy.
Guess who was at the door every time I came home from work tail wagging and wanting to give me kisses 7years every day. That is total unconditional love nothing better than a pup.

Very sorry for your loss. It is very painful because dogs are better than most people.

Pretty sad when people are telling this guy sorry for your loss at this time, and some idiot is downvoting them all...
Probably a Democrat.

Prayers for you bro.
Dogs are awesome. Not sure what I’ll do when I lose mine.

My wife wont leave me alone about getting a dog, but the more I see these posts, the more I insist that we don't.

Sorry to hear. We had to put down our last baby Monday before last. You can think you're ready all you want (in our case we knew it was coming eventually), but once you get in that exam room and it becomes real, all your mental strength usually stays at the door. We're still grieving.

we lost out 10YO recue cat about 6 months ago, and it crushed me. now my 11yo black cat is not doing too well, but we are doing treatments - so we will see.
the important thing that anyone with pets in this thread did, was offer their Dog/Cat the best life they were capable, and provided a great, but brief existence.
my condolences OP - it is never easy, but always hold onto the good memories and times - cause it helps you far more than you realize.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your pup, man. Don’t sweat the downvotes...it is very easy to fat-finger when you are on a phone and 90% of them are accidental.
Search up a verse called “The Rainbow Bridge”...reading it always makes me feel better when I lose a pet.

Man there's been quite a few of these threads lately. It always sucks because it's too depressing.
We don't deserve dogs though man. They're so sweet, happy, loving, and loyal. Wish they would live forever.
Been having my dog for the past 4 years now, but I still miss my poor little Jack Russell every day. Died in 2015. He was the best.
Sorry for your loss OP. It's never easy and it's always sad. Just think of all the good times and the happy life you gave him. He's thankful for you.
