I lost my mom a couple of months ago and it has been hard. I've caught myself crying a few times.

Sadly we buried my week old son today. He fought hard but just didn't make it. Hardest thing so far in my life.

Oh my gosh. My mouth dropped open and tears in my eyes. I'm so so crushed to read this. I know that what I imagine the loss of a child must be like is not even close to what you and your wife and children are going through. Many prayers for you and your family as you get through this journey.
Sympathies to all who have lost loved ones in this thread.

I truly ache for you and your wife.
My nephew was born in September at 27 weeks, 1 lb 12 oz. I was petrified that we'd lose him. Sick at my stomach daily. just literally ache for you and your wife. I know you have many children. That's a joy, but I'm so sad that they hurt too. It's hard to take care of your kids and yourselves at the same time. Y'all are good peeps. You'll survive this loss and I pray it brings you all closer.

Still thinking of you and your family. I hope your wife is okay physically as I recall there were some issues which brought y'all to the hospital before the baby was due. Really feel for you all.

Lost my maternal grandfather Christmas of 1989. I was 6. I never got to know the man. He was a marine during WWII.

I am sorry for your loss. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in May. My cancer is very rare and normally very aggressive and I have been preparing myself for death.
I am 38 now and if I were to die within the next 15 years, I would be the youngest person to die in my family, both sides, for non-accidental causes in a very long time.
To be honest, I do not really fear dying as much as I worry about how my parents, sisters, nieces, and nephews will deal with me being gone.
I lost my last grandparent in February and this is the first Christmas without her and I feel unimaginable sadness. I cannot imagine losing a parent around Christmas.
I am very sorry.
