Maybe I'm stupid. Sentimental. Illogical. I'm just putting junk on cold stone, talking to someone who's voice I'll never hear again.

My mother died on Easter Sunday, my father and older sibling two years ago. You are right-it doesn't get easier - it just gets farther space from it. My daughter has a full minute voicemail on her phone from my mother telling what a good kid she is and that she loves her only granddaughter, that we listen to from time to time. Have my father on an old answering machine tape and my sister has my mother singing happy birthday to her on her voicemail which was something she did to all her kids every year.

Do whatever makes you feel good. I don't know the exact day of my father or brothers death. I don't want to.

Same here for me, only it was Christmas day 2003. Just pulled in from a long road trip to find out that news, it was tough to come to grips with at 13

I've had to bury my mother, a nephew and now my best friend's son all within a week of Christmas. (different years). it certainly doesn't get easier but, it seems to carry a little more weight during this time of year.

Man, I wish to have that. Yesterday made a year since my dad passed. I was always so quick to delete voicemails....now I have nothing except an old email

I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in May. My cancer is very rare and normally very aggressive and I have been preparing myself for death.
i am so sorry for you. I just cannot imagine at such a young age how down you are about this. Just can't imagine and i say prayers for you to find more peace.

To be honest, I do not really fear dying as much as I worry about how my parents, sisters, nieces, and nephews will deal with me being gone.
that is very unselfish of you and to be honest they will hurt for a long time and miss you dearly should anything happen to you. Will pray for them as well.

Lost my dad Christmas morning of 2000. I was 15 at the time and now I'm 30. Half my life without him. Crazy to think about but it does get easier. Trust me.
