The dumb frick Superintendent made it a bigger deal than it needed to be by denying all of it. I said as much when it first was reported.

The parent of the bullied kid wants us to kick the bully out of the league. We can't do that. I feel for the kid and the family, but we can't do that.

what damages are they going to sue for? reimbursement of league fees?
Last year we were threatened with legal action because we did not let a kid sign up a week after the deadline. An attorney wrote a letter to our board, telling us the deadline was "arbitrary and capricious" and their child would suffer irreparable harm because he would be depressed as his friends were playing and he was not.

He definitely did it. I don't care since it was so long ago, and neither should anyone else, but his way of dealing with it makes him a huge pussy.

Nah, he was playing the long game. Dude waited for maximum exposure and revenge. It was beautiful.
ETA - no one should give a shite, but they will. The superintendent made it even worse by denying it. It couldn't have gone more swimmingly for the guy who was bullied.

You seem happy that this guy is getting his life and career ruined over being mean to a kid 35 years ago.

It's pathetic. Dude needs to grow up. Probably deserved to be bullied.

A) He handled it like an imbecile.
B) He gave a kid a swirly and tormented him 35 years ago. That kid grew up and threw some words his way as an adult. I think they're even.

I'm not denying that, but in a weird twist, he's probably pathetic as an adult because of the bullying he got as a kid. It's come full circle.

A kid bullying another kid and an adult trying to ruin another adult's career are even?

I think he’s vicariously living some sort of fantasy where he gets back at the high school bully through this guy.

Yeah. It's just words.

I'm highly skeptical of people who constantly call on God and their religion during public criticism. A judge in Alabama and classmate has stated Hindt was a vicious bully. He called him a thug. Hindt was sued in 1983 for putting a guy in a coma.
The chickens came home to roost, and his ego and pride turned this into a far bigger issue than it ever would have been.
I'm sorry I don't feel sorry for him like you do.

So there are actual juvenile criminals who get all sorts of heinous acts sealed upon adulthood and this is a thing?
sounds like he did screw up by lying about it
sounds like he did screw up by lying about it

quote:I don’t feel sorry for him. I have no feelings either way although I think it’s pretty shitty to go after a man in the public spotlight for the purpose of ruining him just because you got bullied as a kid. It’s sad really.
I'm sorry I don't feel sorry for him like you do.
You seem absolutely giddy that the “chickens came home to roost.” It’s weird.

Absolutely. The judge in Alabama came out after Hindt denied the original allegations. Then the media found a 1983 lawsuit. shite would have been over had he addressed the man and apologized.
Instead, he's invoking the world "pray" like 5 times in his letter and says "only God can judge me." In my experience, the people who go that route are usually scumbags.

I left this part out of my original commentary, but we can go here.
Political figures (Even though he is not elected, I still consider him a political figure as he runs a large public entity) who constantly call on religious themes generally seem to be hiding something.
Maybe this guy truly is a believer. But the history books are FULL with guys who tote out their religion and end up getting hung by it.
If this guy cleaned up his act enough to get a PhD and a job like this... good for him. Again... I feel like a pretty strong message can be given by owning this. This can be a great story of a kid doing stupid things and still going on to a very successful career.
But the way he is handling it is just very, very odd.

Yep.
People who use God and jesus as a shield when they are facing criticism or they just really fricked up are people that should not be blindly trusted to say the least.
Usually shitty people do that.

Maybe it's weird then.
I don't actually actually enjoy this kind of thing, and I'd feel bad for the superintendent had he handled it differently. However, seeing someone fail due to their ego and pride is comical when it was so avoidable.
