Nationally, customers average 1.2 dealership visits before they purchase a vehicle. It's possible you do not know how to buy a car...

All too often people come into a dealership acting like they're playing, Texas Hold'em. "I need a car." What kind of car. "I don't know. You tell me."

Perhaps this is due to a long history of car dealerships being staffed by the lowest scum imaginable, who would pry every last dime out of your sick grandmother if she isn't well prepared.

If car salesmen want to know why the people they deal with are hostile, then they need to look in the mirror.

Well that would work if they weren’t competing businesses and if I were to lie to one of them. Which I don’t.

It’s really not his fault that the national average is brought down by the person with a 500 credit score who walks in to the first dealership and wants that sports car of their dreams even though they don’t make enough to even cover the note

Camaro dealership have been profiting for years off the likes of these sub-prime credit folks.

You're going to have be more specific. That's like telling a baker you want bread. What kind of bread? Baked bread. What kind of baked bread? Sliced.
Exactly. When I go in I know exactly. I have a feeling they spotted his arse coming a mile a way and said frick that.

If I had to sell a car to someone who was too dumb to even have an idea of the model of car they wanted, I would figure they were poor and needed a used car too..

Most people nowadays research the vehicle they want BEFORE visiting a dealership. There is a plethora of websites to help locate, and negotiate, a vehicle purchase.

So, yeah, if you are just casually visiting dealerships for the possibility that you might find that perfect vehicle, for the perfect price, you can make more efficient use of your time...

That’s why I only buy from Carmax. I’ve bought and sold several from other people but the two I’ve bought my wife and the one I bought for me from there have been smooth easy transactions. Walk in and tell them I wanted to look at the 2013 Highlander I saw online and give them the stock number. While they’re getting it pulled around I’ll glance at similar vehicles. End up doing a few test drives and I’m home with a new car in a couple of hours.
