Hell, we could help him on TD but he only knows that he wants a Ford SUV. Explorer? Escape? Edge? Expedition? New, used?

For the love of God, somebody make him say what it is he is interested in buying. This torture is almost roothless.

I don’t see why people use this as a badge of honor. I have an 800 credit score and I’m a financial retard. I’ve literally just paid my bills on time and had a moderate credit history. Your credit score doesn’t make your dick bigger. Trust me, I’ve checked.

You just need to tell him what you want. "I need an SUV." He's going to try to move inventory that's been sitting on the lot.

If he was a competent sales person he’d run an inventory of questions ranging from specific features/brands through to what uses you have planned and of course rough money expectations to make it productive.

You don’t just run straight to the stuff that’s not selling.

f I had to sell a car to someone who was too dumb to even have an idea of the model of car they wanted, I would figure they were poor and needed a used car too..

If the dude came in looking for ford SUVs it’s not like it’s insurmountable to ask a couple questions and show him a few options.

If he’s just there to fill out paperwork from people who already made a decision online, his pay should probably be about $9 an hour and limited on incentives.

Bought a used truck for the farm the other day. Guy knocked 4K off the price and when we test drove it he told me to hammer the pedal to the floor, they have insurance if I wreck.

Guy was a cool salesman. Id buy from him again

Negotiate it all through the online sales department.

This is the correct answer. I did that a few years ago when I bought a car. Guy at dealership wanted my phone number, wanted me to come in. I refused. Told him I wanted all negotiations via email so everything is documented. Got a price and after doing a lot of research the price was legit. Went in with a check and drove off in the car. No add ons, no fees, no drama.

Research your own SUV
Pre qualify
Go to dealership and chose car you want
Give salesperson letter of approval from lender
Go home in new car

I walk in, tell them the car I want and ask for the best price they can give me. I’ll do this around 3 times around with 3 dealerships telling them the offer I got from the one before until none are willing to beat it for the sale. It works

You're wasting your time. Do some research. Find the car you want. Go to the dealer. Put eyes on car. Drive it. Tell dealer what you're willing to pay OUT THE DOOR. If they don't meet the price, walk. Go to other dealer with same car.

Works every time. Haven't had to go to the 2nd dealer yet.

I am currently shopping for a limited edition of a car I want more than half the dealers I contacted know little to nothing about the car I am seeking.

One even told me, oh they aren't bringing those to the US, which is false and I told him it's ashame when the customer knows more than you do about your product.

One dealer has been all over it. Knew everything about the car I want and had been in touch with me weekly on the status of it. The Limited Editions for the US are currently in production and will be shipping in about 2 months.

I will be putting a deposit down once they know for sure the manufacturer will allocate one as there are more dealers than cars being built.
