This is just corporations doing what they do: getting blander over time as they attempt to maximize profit.
Corporations should be min maxing at all times. It’s their duty.
Why does everything look the same?

Congrats on forgetting (never learning?) what capitalism and Marxism are!
Congrats on missing the point entirely, again.(although i suspect this is intentional at this point) The point isn’t that corporations suddenly are Marxist. It’s that they adopt Marxist cultural language to signal virtue while still chasing profit. It’s a branding move, not an economic transformation.
quote:
Yes they did. You see, Marxism is a political and economic philosophy calling for the abolition of private ownership of capital. Therefore, actions taken by private capital, which Marxists don't believe should exist, with a profit motive, which Marxists oppose, are not Marxist.
this is reframing my original analogy only to further confuse yourself.
The critique is about cultural Marxism, not economic Marxism.
When corporations adopt the ideological language of the Left to reframe culture, that’s the Marxist paint job. The engine is still capitalist — but the paint job matters, because it’s how culture gets reshaped. (as I said in the last post)
quote:
No, it's more like putting a new coat of exactly the same color paint on an engine, followed by you claiming that the new paint is actually an entirely different color and will make the car travel backwards.
Except you’re ignoring that the paint is different — and deliberately chosen.
Duh, they still want money, but they also want to signal allegiance to a particular ideology. That signal shapes culture and eventual policy. Dismissing it as just ‘the same coat’ is willful blindness.
This isn't just them swapping out dingy natural walls for white shiplap as your ilk would like to paint it. It’s a complete cultural reorientation for Cracker Barrel as a company.

According to wiki she was part of a musical duo in the late 2000s and now has a podcast..
In 2019 evidently there were some outlets reporting she accused of former NFL player and now Neurosurgeon Myron Rolle of sexual harassment then the reports came back saying that she didn't say that... And when he was asked about it he said that he didn't return her advances or wish to engage in a relationship like she may have wanted". I am assuming he is saying at one point she did accuse him of sexual harassment and that it was a result of getting mad because he didn't have interest in her.
She is pro Palestine and has self diagnosed autism.

You’ve been corporatized. Every town and city looks exactly the same. Just bland conformity with no character.

Their food sucks anyways.

Sure does and as Esquire said, this is today's Bud light. It will blow over with the pussies here and they'll be on to something else the garbage they follow tell them to get pissed off about.
And I'll be here to laugh about that as well.

I only take brand logo outrage seriously from those who were pounding the table for old NBA logos first and foremost.
frick this old man and his barrel, where is the old Detroit Pistons horse engine logo?

I was surprised to see how tame (and admittedly boring and ugly) the rebrand was because the reeeee-ing definitely made it into my feed before anything else did.
The fact that you can’t see that the uproar is about them making it boring, soulless, and bland proves the point

We are not the same

They are definitely getting away from their brand. Since this CEO took over in July 2023, the stock is down ~30%. But if we are honest, many people abandoned the brand before this change. After the Covid bump when everyone was eating out with their government handouts, this brand went into a tailspin. The new branding will not work, but the old brand was abandoned by its core customers beginning in mid-2021.

If you guys want to see how soulless and bland the remodel is, the store in Slidell finished theirs. I went a month ago and it just looks like a duller colored Cane's. They took out all of the brown walls, added in a bunch of florescent lighting, and took the majority of the trinkets off the wall for walmart style decor that's as basic as basic gets - stuff like fake aluminum signs for fake gas stations. The staff wasn't even wearing aprons, they had on polo's like you'd see at every other chain restaurant. Its boring and lame.

Forget about these corporate places and go to your mom and pop local restaurants. Give the support that’s actually appreciated.
It’s too bad that Walmart has infused themselves into towns such that no retail stores can survive.
