I drove by there. There is nothing spectacular about that view. Literally every other cabin in that area is the same. There is nothing separating Kathy's place from the hundred of other rentable places,
Da frick? Place is spectacular. Best in the town.

When's the last time wildfires burned though the southeast like this? I can't remember it.
This feels so west coast.

You're a liar. It is exactly like every single place around here designed to appeal to tourists. Nothing wrong with that but, don't come in here acting like it's something special. It's not.

Have you posted the property so we could fill it with bad reviews yet?

I think he's Kathy.
How about you just rent your place out to me?

I posted the link to her general website. I'm waiting to speak with her again before I unleash the OT army for swift internet justice. I really don't want to be nasty or for it to get to that point.

I live here full time with my wife and son. I hope this experience doesn't deter you from future visits. This place is amazing minus the Florida people.

It won't. I really want to come. But I don't want to deal with her again!
We are going to plan it farther in advance. Perhaps this time next year so we can take the munchkins to do the fun Christmas stuff in Bryson City. Looks to be a wonderful little town.
Yalls train ride has got to be better than the one we just did in Knoxville. Two hours is way too long for a bunch of crazy toddlers!

If I remember correctly it's almost 4 hours long
something like 40 miles total.

Ummmm nevermind
toddlers have expiration dates when it comes to activities! My son was embarrassing us, but then we realized all of the kids were going nuts so we felt a sense of validation.

They do an awesome job of entertaining the kids, I will say. Especially around Christmas.
FYI, the Nantahala Brewery has an LSU flag hanging over the bar

NO SHE DID NOT refund the money, either.
Look over your rental contract again. If you are in the clear, as you say you are, why aren't you suing for breach again?

Well, they are called the Smoky Mountains
Some animals died. Some gtfo. Some invasive trees died. Some naturally occurring trees died. Some didn't.
It'll all come back in a couple of years. We burn in MS and LA on purpose all of the time to increase timber production. Some spots are even burned every year

Ok, thanks, we will hit it up when we finally make it. I love going to LSU businesses while we travel. It's like finding distant family.
We've honestly heard nothing but wonderful things about the area. SIL/BIL enjoy hiking and take vacations there. It's the first place they recommended when I told them we were looking for a great low key vacation to relax.

Because I'm not a litigious person and was certainly hoping to not get to that point. It's not out of the question but with all I've got going on, a lawsuit is the last thing I want to be part of. Why can't your friend just be honest?

Because she hasn't been hit with a civil summons and complaint yet. You better fricking believe I'm suing someone if I'm out a fair amount of money ($1,500+) and it wasn't my fault.
The complaint would take all over 15 minutes to draft.
ETA: Hell, just have an attorney draft a demand letter.

That place could use less tourism, it's not hurting for people showing up that's for damn sure.
I hate it for the locals who live nothing like those gaudy cabins that had their homes burned to the ground and lost everything who won't see much of anything in support and help, don't give a shite about the out of towner rental cabins and the tourist traps.
