A little whiskey, honey and lemon juice in thier sippy cup. Or, put on some 80's heavy metal and crank the volume.

download the app roadtrippers. It allows you to pick a route and then it will show you everything to stop at (land marks, parks, historical stuff, breweries what ever) within "x" miles of your route. Then plan to stop every 2 hours or so to let the little one run around a bit. IF he is asleep at a stop, pass it and keep going.

Ends up adding some time into the trip drivewise, but it gives you a reason to stop and hopefully it tires the kid out enough that when you finally stop for the night he goes to sleep.

Good luck and god speed

We seriously considered just running head on into bridge pilings. My daughter (no pics) would scream and yell nonstop if she wasn't being held.

I just did a 17 hour trip with my 3 year old and 21 month old. We had a couple small breakdowns for about 5 minutes but my wife had all their favorite toys within reach along with a bunch of books. Oh and snacks. Lots and lots of snacks they don't usually get like mini-Oreos and chips. They were awesome the entire way and never once asked for a movie. We had it ready if needed but they didn't ask.

We do 4-5 long trips a year (5 hrs or so) and this was the super long one and they did great. They are more resilient than you think and can find ways to entertain themselves.
