So where exactly are all these crazy advanced weapons? It's too bad they're too expensive and magical to use in this Iran quagmire right now. Maybe if we give Lockheed another $500b they can bring the cost down for us.

You think we should show our aces to bring frickin Iran to heel????

We could do what we need to do there with wooden barrels of gunpowder dropped out of a B52 with a monkey riding it to light the fuse.

The tech we have that we do know about it rediculous. They can read your newspaper from orbit.

Quagmire? Imagine being such a pussy that losing an aircraft every other other week was a quagmire. After a while we're going to have to realize the Iranians aren't the awesome people we thought they were and aren't going to take their country back.

Until then we'll continue to try and treat them like humans.

Watching an F-22 “hover” nose pointing at the sky, and moving back and forth before blasting off like a rocket, was pretty magical.

This was at an air show 15 years ago.

I remember all the hype that preceded the release of the Segway vehicle. It was suppose to change society.

Just not in the form that you are used to with the Segway, you don't have kids in your neighborhood on e-bikes or this stupid thing:

Highly recommend his book “Skunk Works”……great read on him, and Kelly Johnson as well.

Did I ever mention I spent the better part of a week inside an SR-71 doing inspections. ;)

Yes. Deterrence is the biggest flex. Camouflaged police vehicles don't deter speeders. So, it comes down to do we want to prevent war or kick arse at war.

There was a group there from Skunk works. I got to talking to one of the guys about this and he said to imagine the most wild shite in your mind. He said skunk works was 20 years beyond that.

In a similar vein, I thought I had a good idea of our (the US's) cyber capability. Then I got read on for a few things.

Uh, ya. I wasn't even close. And this was six years ago. And that was just the part I was privy to.

So there's a reason why I have a good chuckle when the usual retards around here hyperventilate about how much better China and Russia are at cyber operations.

But can they read the 20 page instruction booklet in 13 different languages all in microscopic print that you get when you buy a new coffee maker?

Can they find the time to deploy some of that tech to Hormuz to blow up the equivalent of 41ft Regulator. If so, they should.
