This is why I’m now worried. You’ve said multiple times in this thread not to worry unless you’re obese, and I’m a fatty.

I mean yea, the more obese one is, the more at risk to things like htn, chf, breathing issues, etc. not that hard to understand

Yeah if we go to wearing masks all day for civilians I’ve resigned to mowing it down. Now I just rub a bunch of sanitizer in it about 20 times a day.

Thanks for your opinions

Thanks for doing this thread and for your service to our community.

Lots of good stuff in here.
My wife is pregnant. Both of us are late 30’s, in shape, no underlying conditions so this makes me feel better.

Lots of the doomsayers gonna hate this thread. Had two earlier arguing with me that healthy 18-49 year olds were a huge risk/problem and something like 30% were hospitalized. CoughAntonioMossCough.

No but working at a Daquiri shop right now wouldn’t be so bad.

What do you categorize as a physician? Not ER doctors?

Not enough PPE is directly about money. Having anything extra laying around on a shelf is like putting money under the mattress for an accountant. One hospital I worked at would run out of some equipment on a busy weekend and that was the answer from some supervisors.
No one thinks it will happen until it happens. And only then wil administrators respond. Most of us have never had to respond to this level of crisis.. But bean counters have to respond to higher ups and investors and boards of directors in terms of profit and loss weekly/monthly. Those things are easy. They can be managed and predictable. Doing these things well results in good raises and bonuses and promotions etc etc.
No one will take a fall or lose their jobs over why we have been caught with our pants down so badly. I’m not sure they should. Everyone got caught. As time goes on we will find out more and more things that should have been done that weren’t. Some of it will be pretty bad. The lack of testing is what really bothers me. We admitted people under isolation for corona virus and then didn’t test them because they didn’t strictly meet the criteria. And then it was left up to a doctor to test or not. They didn’t test but kept him on isolation and didn’t change treatment. Look like a duck, quack like a duck but didn’t test positive for duck, so it’s not a duck. But let’s still feed it what ducks eat and treat it like a duck. Something wrong with that. No explanation. And if that’s true then how often is that happening and how many suspected cases aren’t being reported
shite. I don’t know where I’m going with this. Just frustrated. My unit/hospital hasn’t even really been hit that hard....yet.

Bc I hope you realize the best physicians to care for these pts in the hospital are the first medical doctors to admit them (er docs) and pulmonologists
