Is that why the eastbound rush hour traffic is insanely bad there? The backup of cars on the shoulder is so dangerous.

It's always been pretty bad there every afternoon. But now it's just that much worse.

Wayyyyyyy worse now. The light allows a crap load of cars off the interstate. The cops were there to allow more cars on walker south to go due to the traffic on 447. They didn't give a rats arse about the backup on I12 they caused. Someone is going to get seriously hurt due to this practice.

Holy shite the only decent path I can take is down the most deliverance like road I have ever traveled down.

Milton Road north of Florida.

They need to fix the bridges before I squeal like a pig.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I took that road one day and it was like being transported to another dimension. It's like they have an HOA that makes them have the most white trash yards possible. I've never taken it again.

I wouldn't think traffic would be that bad right now from that way with so many displaced. I-10 has been awful since the flood.

A random sample of folks from this area on FB this morning indicates that leaving early gives you no traffic but anything after 6:45 and you can forget it.

Yea I live in Walker and work off college. If I have to be here at 7 I can leave at 630-635 but if I have to be here at 8 I need to leave by 650 and barely make it for 8.

You would wrong. The number of cars I see from out of state making the 12 commute is insane. There must be a ton of people staying in Tangi and St Tammany and driving in.

Last week I sat in number to number stop and go traffic from O'Neal to Holden on Friday. It took me two hours to get to Hammond a week ago. I am dreading leaving tonight.

Does it say commercial on the plates?

A huge number of local residents have out of state plates at the moment due to having rental cars since their cars were flooded.

I am coming from Madisonville to Baton Rouge. I need to get to the Baton Rouge Airport at 9:30 at the latest on Thursday. Would 7am be too late to leave Madisonville?

Thanks

Take I-12 to Satsuma. Head north till you get to HWY. 190.

Take a left(heading east) for 1000' and take a right onto Hwy. 1024. Take 1024 all the way to Watson(Hwy. 16)

Turn left on 16 and go several miles till you get to Magnolia Bridge road. Turn right on MBR and go all the way to Sullivan Rd. in Central. Turn right onto Sullivan then left on Hooper. Take Hooper all the way to the airport.

Thanks for the info. So it seems you are saying i 12 isn't an option for us then.

i would check Waze first before venturing west of the Satsuma Exit. From that exit to the airport would take you 45 minutes driving the route i posted. You wouldn't run into any traffic. Only stops for traffic lights and stop signs.

Got it. I will jot this down and pass on to my brother. He will be driving. So am guessing if we leave at 7 we should be to the airport with tons of time left before 9:30?

Do you live on Milton? They still have blue tarps up from Gustav. Then there is some burly 12 foot tall hairy bust in someone's yard with huge tits.

Last trip through there I viewed a preteen with no teeth sitting in a lawn chair 10 feet from road polishing his AK.

I only wish I were exaggerating worst road I have ever been down in LP. I have been in some sketchy white trash areas but nothing comes close to Milton Rd. Hell just look at Google maps and you can see all the blue tarps. Whole area needs to be condemned.

There's a stretch of trailers through there with no electricity or running water. The guy that went crazy after smoking spice and cut the fetus out of his wife lived on Milton road.
