and yet i'd bet my entire year's salary that if i were to get a room full of black people, then led your lily white arse in front of them and told you to say the n word, you wouldn't have the nuts to... and save me the "i don't say that word" excuse, because your post is pretty indicative of quite the opposite...

How much we taking here and are you hand picking your black folks like they use to do?

N***er

Black People: "Do NOT use that word"

Continue to put it in all their music (that they want people to sing along to)

Continue to use it in their comedy

Continue to use it in addressing each other (and sometimes non-blacks)

Continue to use it in every day language

Continue to give non-whites a pass in saying it without the hard "R"

Frick off. It’s such an overused word in this country, and whites interact with it/hear it every day, it’s going to slip into the lexicon

As a father of a biracial son I hope my son never has to be called that word.

I hope your son is never acting in a way that would justify someone calling him that word.

So because some people do something that’s wrong, that means everyone can?

No. That means that those that continue to use it, despite all of the warnings, are treated equally.

I also understand other black kids will call him the n word but it’s just not the same when it’s not a non black person calling him that if that makes any sense.

Should not have segregated standards. Would you be ok with a black kid calling your kid an oreo (or whatever the current derogatory term for biracial people is as I am still trying to wrap my head around calling some women a woman and some men a man being derogatory & offensive)?

Being more concerned about N word versus the W word seems kind of racist to me.

To be honest any version of the N word is usually first heard by kids that age being used by blacks. They don’t always clearly pronounce a ‘ga’ at the end of the word in person or in song. Throw in groups of friends starting at that age through high school made up of multiple races constantly calling each other the various slurs for their race which from my experience only is usually pushed by blacks and always in jest by all at first (but only one race will be held accountable when video surfaces years from now or a 3rd party hears them and gets offended). Most likely to make reference to a person’s race in communications would be blacks as well.

A bus driver may not be fully trained in all nuances of dealing with this issue and may have have been asking in good faith what “N word” the girl asked to be called to be able to report complete story of incident (if that is what really was said).

quote:

Lyric said, “She called me to the front of the bus when she was bringing us home and she asked me what n-word did I want him to say.”

I admit even if in good faith it should have been asked differently, but until investigation mom should just file a complaint and see how it’s handled first. Making everything a news event, social media trend, assuming a person is guilty, and getting NAACP involved has to stop being first response. How do you know a process works if it’s never used?

This young girl does not deserve a racial slur.

But other slurs or derogatory comments are deserved by this young girl?

Why limit what is not deserved to racial slurs?

Point is, if a 50 yr old white bread like me will be called a nnnnnn, your son definitely will, doesn’t matter what kind of skin he has.

Outside of a verified celebrity of some kind I wonder how Twitter decides who to enforce usage of then N word ga or er in regards to targeted harassment or promoting hate towards a group. If profile has a picture of a black person do they just let it go? Wouldn’t forcing someone to prove race be discrimination in itself.

With so many basically anonymous profiles & even a lot of fake profiles I don’t see how social media can enforce targeted harassment or promoting hate against a group not by the slur words or harassing words in the offending tweet themselves but by what member of a group said/posted them. It was better when it pushed unfollow, mute, and block if something offended you versus getting more involved themselves. Whole point of Twitter was to be short and quick not have to have a lawyer or HR rep review every tweet before tweeting, retweeting, or liking.
