Marrying someone you haven’t lived with is fricking stupid. Full stop. So much liability to give up with no experience in how it’s going to go. I would drop kick my son if he told me he planned on marrying a girl he hadn’t lived with for at least 6 months

You sound like a fantastic human & parent. I'd disown my dad if he said something this moronic on the internet.

Way to set your kid up for success. I’m sure he’ll be happy with half of his shite in 10 years.

I’d tell my kid to live together first to see if that part of the relationship is compatible before actually getting married.

What part are you referring to? Can you give an example?

You and your son are very poor judges of character if you require living with someone to determine whether they're a worthy spouse. Best of luck to you both, because you'll need it.

Being able to cohabitate successfully.

If you can’t “live” together, then you prolly shouldn’t get married.

Towards the younger end of millennial actually

There are multiple ways to skin a cat. I won't chastise someone who would like to live together before marriage, but it's very much a you problem if you're unable to determine whether someone is a worthy partner without living together.

That’s awfully general. Can you give an example?

Gotta

Really? If you are committed to one another, you don’t know the person well enough? You “gotta@ live with them first?

Like, inevitably? Really?

The only way to PROVE you’re compatible with another person is to live with them. Anything other than living with them is guessing and hoping. With today’s divorce laws it is absolute foolishness for a man to risk half of his livelihood on someone he hasn’t lived with. I don’t give a shite what your preacher says. It’s just common sense.

I lived with two. Thought I would marry the first one, living with her made me realize it wouldn’t work. Lived with the second one and it was so easy that it made it clear we would work as a couple long term. Highly recommend.

Exactly. If you had two experiences with one you were considering to be your wife and then another that actually became your wife, you can’t recommend it highly enough.
