I'd do an Airstream in a heartbeat.

Time to buy a place at Yogi Bear
Wow, did not know you could buy them. We get a special price where we are now (a place much like Yogi's place) because we are staying here for a few months at least. We love it here. We have all we need here included (cable, fast unlimited internet, pool, ,a store on the property, paved sites with new picnic tables for each place

I have been thinking a lot lately about RVing, and doing some research .. i dont think i necessarily want to live in one full time (nothing wrong with it, just not for me), but when i retire I'd like to get one and spend a good portion of the year exploring the country in it.. i specifically would like to get a smallish (23-26 ft) Class C RV.. I'm only in my early 40s now, but I'd like to retire in 15 yrs or so... but as someone mentioned, there will probably be self-driving RVs by then, so we'll see.

I have a weird Aunt that lives in one 24/7 365 days a year.
They have a PO Box in Seattle. They just go wherever their mood takes them. Every couple of years they pop up in Memphis and call my parents to take them out to dinner.
I have looked at buying one for vacations, but keep getting veto'd.
There is a gentleman named Butch that posts here that can probably share his experiences with you.
If I were you i would try to rent one for a vacation with your wife/family (if they are the ones veto'ing you. Maybe they just need a chance to see how it really is and all of the places you can go, even if you want a really chill wilderness experience.
Make that trip planned around things the veto would love. If they like comfort then go to places with amenities or go visit someplace they love. I would try to subtly sell them on the idea.
My SO had told me he was a man who always worked and always would. After a few months in this life, he is ready to retire too (and he will be very shortly and then freelance when he pleases as he likes to stay busy).
Kids love campers and camping so if you have them maybe they can help convince the doubters. Our first camper we had as a kid was a popup. Oh such fun days!
Hope your RV dreams do happen one day.

I don't think most here know this broads history.
From the perfect compound living and teaching school on the compound and then he messed around but it was all his fault. Before that it was the lifetime movie supposed ex dying because of Katina floodwarer cancer.
To marrying a really old man for money who didn't have money who stole from kids.

I'm looking at houseboats right now. Really want to pull the trigger.
I can get a bad arse one for 70-80k and it only costs 350 a month for a slip and that include water sewage trash and electric

What does that matter in any way? We are consenting adults and marriage is up to him to decide if he wants. I have never brought it up but he has already stated how committed he is and has bought me a ring already.
After losing my late fiance and the issues it caused because we were not legally married yet, I do consider that as an important factor for his legal protection and rights as well as mine. (such as medical POA, considering my health issues).
As for me considering us married. No i don't but i conduct myself as far as our relationship because I am 100% faithful, not looking for anyone else and am committed to him completely.
If he wanted out then that his choice but he has only become even more devoted to me each day. He went thru a rough long term relationship so I love pampering him, just as he does to me. I encourage him to live a life that makes him happy and i support his dreams in every way. He is free to go anytime he pleases.
We do live as if we were married and why not? If we plan on getting married one day then why not live our life as if we were so we know what we are getting into.
Anyways since we are off topic anyway, I wish the best of luck in trying to get pregnant and have been looking forward to the day when you post here with happy news.

That is a fascinating place, especially Salvation Mountain. I hear it has gotten a rough crowd out there is the past years though. Still would love to see it though

Since I can't get pregnant the good ol fashioned way...it doesn't really matter now does it?

It's my life to live as I please. I don't regret my past since even the bad things have led to good. Not my fault my ex cheated but i certainly see it as a blessing as it has led me to an even better life, freedom and financial independence.
"Compound" life was cool.
I love teaching.
My ex did not die of cancer, my fiance died and as a New Orleans fire fighter and yes it was related to the stuff he was exposed to in and after Katrina. His death was legally classified as in the line of duty.
