They're pretty expensive I'd assume. It's probably not worth the money if you're about to get married

It's cool if youre single, but if youre about to get married I would find somewhere cheaper and just try to save money

seems like a waste of money if you're about to get married. I'd move into a cheap place outside of downtown and save for a starter home.

I mean its not really all that expensive. 1000 bucks a month everywhere else you look for a 1 bedroom you are at least paying 850. With all the amenities in walking distance i figure that its not that bad of a price.

Depends. Do you live with your lady/split rent?

I looked downtown a couple months ago when I was moving, but they were pricy for what you get. I now rent a 1180/sq ft two-story/two-bedroom townhome in a very central location in BR for $1150/month. 1-bedrooms are a ripoff. I just left one that was pretty dingy, which is what you get unless you fork over $1000.. in which case you may as well have a 2-bedroom.

There are usually homes in Beauregard Town and Spanish Towne if you're looking downtown. The new apartments going up are really nice.. just priced too high IMO.

yes the ones over mathernes.

It would be our starter apartment. I would move in before we get married and then once we get married she would move in. I have a job lined up for graduation after may and she would attend grad school for the next two years.

I pay $998 for a 1 bedroom. I walk to work, the gym, any bar or restaurant downtown, and take the elevator down to go to the store. Well worth it for me and I slashed my gas bill (just in time for cheap oil) but more importantly, I don't deal with the moron drivers in this town nearly as much.

Good Lord. For 1000 a month you can get a 3 bedroom home.

Downtown BR is fine. Close to 1913. But if you just graduated from college, and are getting married, you are doing it wrong.

Red Stick Lofts on Nicholson is probably a better bet. Super close to downtown and LSU.
