Where?

How is that doing it wrong? I can go to church and a restaraunt and never get in a car. We can go have a beer after work or studying any night of the week. Any community event would be on our doorstep. She can study at coffee shops and libraries, I can work out at the Y. We can do all of this and never get in a vehicle.

You should definitely do this. Matherne's alone really helps the cause. They have a great deli and their liquor section is incredible. There is so much going on in DBR, I think you will enjoy it. Just in time for the annual Mardi Gras parades!

Check out Spanish Town as well. Very cute area.

Seems like it would be loud at night. I need complete silence to sleep at all. I would go nuts living there. I hate downtown in general, though, primarily due to the one-way streets and lack of parking. I avoid it like the plague, probably only going downtown once or twice a year.

Yeah the Grocery store is clutch, that makes a big difference

Not many with a grocery store downstairs and walking distance to pretty much everything you need, including employers.
Pretty good deal IMO.

I'd do it if I was in my 20's. Once you factor in reduced driving/uber costs/dwi risk it'd be worth the extra cost. If you're going to rent anyway take a chance on the more urban (although not yet a "real" city) setting. You have the rest of your life to live the suburban lifestyle.

Literally anywhere. I put zero down on a 3 bedroom/2 bath home in St. George and my note is less than 1100 a month.

Downtown BR has to be the quietest place in BR on nights and weekends.

If money isn't an option, check out those new apartments they built with the IBM building.

Even with all those bars on 3rd street?

In my floorplan, my bedroom is closer within the building with no windows. I'm also on the 6th floor. A cat 5 could be raging outside and I wouldn't hear a thing.

How did you get a zero down mortgage?

If you're living on a double income then go for it.

When's the last time you were in downtown BR?

I stand corrected.

Yeah, I can see how they'd be comfortable.
