It's basically the white trash end of Southern Indiana. New Albany is more downtown/urban (if you can even really call it that) and Clarksville is inbetween.
You get up to Harrison County on the other side of New Albany and you're pretty much in trailer parks until you get to Amish country and then Indy. Harrison County had a massive HIV outbreak due to needle use recently.

Pretty much East End of Louisville to about Bardstown Rd (runs damn near down the middle of Jefferson County/Louisville) is middle to upper class. Prospect, which is just outside of city limits in the East End, is where your folks like Papa John lives. And very white. South End is similar to your Jeffersonville, IN folks. The West End and Smoketown (right outside of University of Louisville's campus) is essentially the hood.
Louisville for the most part is pretty self segregated, even with scattered housing sites.
