I remember when my dad died, I took a few days off to make the funeral arrangements and to bury him. I remember my dean calling me and reminding me that funeral leave was only 2 days and I had taken 4. He asked if I could get a family member to make the arrangements because I needed to come back to work. He never ask how I was doing? I was off a total of 4 days. Buried my dad on a Saturday and was standing in front of a class teaching research that Monday. None of my coworkers asked if I was okay. No one cared. I was back teaching and that was all that mattered. I want you to remember this; always take care of yourself. I don’t care if you’re an entrepreneur or work a 9 to 5, take care of your mental, physical and spiritual health, because they all are equally important.

Sounds like he is being a bitch begging for people to feel sorry for him

I hate this kind of sappy crap that's been littered all over LinkedIn.

Support. I agree it extends to entrepreneurial types and employees. We all have a limited amount of time and energy and it can be tough to decide how much you are going to give to yourself and your family vs what you are going to give to the man and the almighty dollar.

Real story or not it is your responsibility to know your workplace policies and plan accordingly.
Real story or not, only a pathetic loser would post such attention seeking sympathy seeking drivel.
This and all the humble bragging are what has turned LinkedIn into a snowflake melt from what used to be an oblique portal in which to advertise your credentials to recruiters and prospective employers.

Phrase "teaching research" is not real. Throws the whole narrative into question.

Have y’all read the one about the guy who hired some lady just because she was a lady? Even though she wasn’t nearly as qualified.

Not enough upvotes to give.
It’s the only social media account that I personally find value in and it’s rapidly turning to poo.

BS. Saw something similar from a woman but it was her boss calling her back to work. Seeking attention and followers. Same story line.

Unless he is literally teaching a class on research.

LinkedIn is a cesspool of sob stories and SJW bullshite stories.

This sounds like BS. What dean would have time to call an instructor? Furthermore, most real college level teachers would simply cancel class that day. The internet has made people stupid.

Dude could take a week off if he wanted. You are going to use your vacation time. A lot of black people will take off a whole week when their family member dies.

Fake. No one teaches research and fricking everyone would have asked how he was doing.

Entrepreneurs and MLM salespeople and others who have an interest in bemoaning corporate life/the rat race/etc. always make reference to the 9-5.
That's how I know they don't know what they're talking about. The rat race isn't the 9-5. It's the 8-8 with nights and weekends.
