It appears to me that any liberal arts school without a very strong regional (at least) academic reputation is in some danger over the next decade. Cost of attendance for these places has gotten way out of line for a lot of them relative to nearby public options and their employment networks. The NESCACs, W&L, Davidsons, etc. of the world have the donor base and reputations to be fine, but anything below that tier could be in trouble.
There might be some surprises in the coming years. Some fairly big names could be headed for trouble. Sarah Lawrence is one that gets mentioned frequently.

Furthering the trend of small private schools biting the dust. Young folks are not being duped into going thousands of dollars into debt...all for no job after graduation

I could see that. Acceptance rate is not great, endowment on the smaller side, etc. The cost of attendance issue is even more acute for urban schools due to cost of living.

If its not an elite level school, then its going die soon. That's how all the private colleges will go.

My number 1 criteria will be a good employment network. My dream school for my kids is Georgia Tech since it has a great reputation, huge alumni network, good career services department, and is in the hottest job market in the South.

Saw tuition and fees was like 26K per year and had an 89 percent acceptance rate.
I guess a “pay your fees get your Cs” school
What happens to the endowment when a school closes?

Also, they started their football program a few years ago
Starting a football program has recently been a good indicator of how poorly a college is doing financially. It’s usually a plan to drive up enrollment. Limestone did it recently, the school that another poster mentioned, St. Augustine, did as well. There’s a school in WV that’s barely hanging on that just started football within last several years too.
