Cash is legal tender, you never know when you might need some cash instead of a useless plastic card. Music has the same problem as digital money. If they can decide you can't use it, was it ever really yours?
You can make these arguments about anything that has been created during the Information Age. Do you just not use anything that is digital?
By the way, if you have a checking or savings account, there is no “hard copy” record of your balances anywhere. It’s all digital already so unless you don’t use banking, you’re not avoiding this “problem”.

I had to use the paper version of the McMaster-Carr catalog and the department secretary order the parts that we needed. Now that old yellow catalog is completely on line, Hell we by used excavators on online auctions now just like EBay.

Stopping at a gas station/rest stop to get a map when crossing into a new state or a city you’ve never been in was a joy.
I still do that and have a large collection of the state maps from the various welcome centers. Although i use Waze extensively, I still use the maps too, both the on-line kind and the on-paper kind.
One thing that amazes me is that back in the day before cell phones, we could still almost always find each other. There were known gathering spots and you just cruised until you ran into the people you were looking for.

Those books were big - probably 15"x15", contained about 200 pages and weighted about two pounds, but you needed it in your car at all times to find your way around the Metroplex:

I used to call a local tv station on Saturday nights when I got home to hear a recording of the days college football scores.
If not, I had to wait till I woke up on Sunday and read the paper To find out who won.

Some things were better.
But for the most part it was a million times worse.
