Small jobs are a PITA. Pay what it takes to get it over with.

Did you forget to take your ornery meds? ;)
The panel is tidy. Here you can clearly see the double tapped neutrals, and the availability of empty lugs on the bar to remedy the issue. It's a 10 minute job, tops. I'd do it my dang self if the buyer wasn't so naive.

No. No. It's not

What's keeping you from doing it yourself and telling them you hired someone? They asking for some kinda proof?
Posted on 11/30/15 at 8:34 pm to bencoleman
Do it yourself and make an invoice using Word. AAA Electric, LLC sounds reputable

Nah, the house is about 15 years old. I think it pre-dates the 2002 NEC clarification on the double tap neutral issue.

That's more my style, but they want proof most likely, and well, google.

Man, that's like a 15 minute job and you are going to have to pay out the arse for a lic'd electrician to come out and do it

Ha!
Those wires are different colors, even!

On a side note regarding electrical safety, I saw the result of what happens when a man touches a 13.8 kv line when it wasn't properly locked and taagged out a few weeks ago.
Always respect electricity.

Tell me about it. Even better us thay it's a sub-panel. I can kill the power to all of it in one throw.

I understand what could happen. The wires are secure and there is currently no issue, but I have no problem fixing it for the buyers peace of mind.

Damn. Where was this?

Oh, what a fricking load of horse shite. Tell those people to go frick themselves. That panel was wired TO CODE in a professional and workmanlike manner.
I've been doing this shite for 20 years, and that's a damn fine looking panel. BR inspectors office only started nitpicking us for wiring neutrals like that a couple years ago.
If I were you, I'd tell them to lump it. It was code when the house was built. If they want to upgrade it, they can pay for it.
fricking home inspectors...

Just change them. It'll take all of twenty minutes. I'll come by there tomorrow and do it for fifty dollars
