I like that idea.
Another example would be a black version of Golden Girls. Being Sicilian was an important part of Sophia's character. Instead of giving the housemates the same names, just have four old black women sharing a house and create new characters. It would be a great comedy show.

It’s the Hollywood playbook now. Just take an established character and change the race, gender, or sexual orientation. I don’t mind that as long as the straight white man be on the receiving end of it every now and then. So a white dude as Blade or Storm would do.
