feel like most of the traffic jams that occur on my commute everyday are because of these people that do this. Infuriating.
It's actually the people that don't let anyone in that causes the traffic issues.

For anyone familiar with Houston, the 59 ramp onto 610 towards the Galleria is full of assholes who are too good to wait in line and drive in the shoulder on a turn to cut in right before the merge. This is the where I can pinpoint the source of my being stubborn on letting people in.
every fricking day of my life for the past 2 years.....
They will also wait sooo late in that spot, they'll try to merge or just keep driving down the shoulder to get in. You know the people I'm talking about. I position myself far enough out everyday, that isn't possible.
And yep, I'm that guy who will risk having a fender bender to keep their pretentious arrogant asses out, hoping it sends them down 59 South and add an extra 30 minutes to their commute. frick em

I fully understand that but as this thread shows, it makes most people think you're a dickhead.
I don't care if they think I'm a dickhead. I am in front of them - properly and legally. If someone wants to delay traffic and his own progress by merging early, that's his problem.

Its funny you mention that because I was thinking of my Road Armor front bumper and how if I didn't want to let you in, you weren't getting in. No one wants to chance it with a 250lbs steel bumper lol.
Actually had a kid cross the double white lines on the intracoastal in a 3/4 ton and slam on his brakes in front of me.
He didn't have a hitch (obviously) and I was out of patience, so I sent my stinger into his tailgate. Cop writing inspection stickers walked over laughing.

So you don't want to let someone in and then expect them to thank you for having to force themselves into your lane?
Posted on 10/20/15 at 9:14 am to CoachDon
If you have your blinker on I will always let you over, if you set up for the power move, I will cut you off. In an emergency lane closure scenario I generally let two cars in.

There's always the people who know the lane ends for at least a mile but drive all the way up to the end and then expect to be let in. Yeah, frick those people.
Would you rather one lane be completely backed up? That lane exists for a reason. Utilize both lanes and zipper. That is what the engineer designed it for.

Don't just pop over and act like I had to let you in.
Typical dick driver. You should have the sense to slow down and let people merge like what is taught in driving school. I love when I'm pulling my boat and trying to merge (especially the 610/10W through NO) and dicks like the OP will speed up to close the gap. Happened this past weekend. I merged anyway. MF got scared of 10K lbs rollin his arse over.

Infinitely this. This is why it takes 1.5 hours to go a 3 mile stretch over the sunshine bridge

Oh, and..

"I believe that if you let somebody cut in front of you in traffic and they don't give you the little "wave", it should be perfectly legal to get up underneath 'em, get 'em loose, and put 'em into the wall. "

That is actually approved and encouraged by traffic engineers the world over. You're supposed to use empty roadway instead of changing lanes before you have to. It helps traffic move faster.
Yep, this.
I drive down the lane that is ending as far as I can until I can get in front of a 18-wheeler or elderly person who is taking their sweet time accelerating. I don't go to the end and wait with my blinker on or some BS, I just merge like normal, but I do it towards the end. What is the problem?
