Dear Langston,

I thought of you when I saw the son of Alton Sterling weeping at a press conference. It was the latest of a string of haunting public rituals of grief. The police had killed another black person. His cries made me think of you. It seems, ever since the murder of Trayvon Martin—and you were only fifteen then—that you have had to come to terms with this pressing fact: that police can wantonly kill us, and there seems to be little or no protection. That even I can’t protect you.

Did anyone actually make it past this?

Dear Dad:

I've decided that facts don't matter ever. Only my narrative does. Thousands of my people are killed every year by our own, but frick it. Those are acceptable losses in this fight.

Love,

Your son

Dearest Papa,

When I see these things, I think, "will it be me next"?

Then I realize that I am a man who grew up with a decent father in his life. A man who has a job and is a productive member of society and don't do hood rat things in hood rat places.

Your son,

Skronquavious Typhoon.

P.S.
Just kidding, it's Michael.
Thanks for not giving me a stupid ghetto name and dooming me to a life of dead end jobs and face tattoos.

Dear Uncle, and cousin Langston. You're dumb. Think for yourselves for a change.

The repeated mantra that white people are out to get blacks is such an absurd assault on reality, I'm not sure any peaceful ground can ever be reached.

Pretty much the exact opposite is true.

Mate, these BLM need to look at statistics...

Chance of being killed by a white cop - very low
Myself being killed by a black male - very low

Look towards the real dangers. Car crashes, heart disease, etc.

It's like Australians protesting shark attacks. Very rare and pretty hard to change...

Or just don't resist arrest....that's an idea

Obey the commands of the police and nothing will happen, dumbass. The victim mentally is through the roof with these people. Trayvon Martin got killed by a Mexican after he began bashing his head into the pavement. Has nothing to do with the police and it is an isolated incident. Rice was the idiot kid waving an air gun around. What the hell were the cops supposed to do? Wait and see if he shoots and real bullets come out. Sterling was a hardened criminal with years of history and an illegal gun, who refused to comply. Then we have the gentle giant, Michael Brown who thought it would be a good idea to wrestle with a cop for his gun minutes after robbing a convenience store. Gray injured himself in the transport vehicle when the dumbass kept slamming himself inside the van. There were even reports on him having history of participating in "crash-for-cash" schemes, injuring himself in law enforcement settings to collect settlements. Cops are not in the business of playing games considering all the shite thy have to deal with. I would have shot everyone of those bastards if I were in those situations. Better but be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Question for black folks on OT.

How many of your racial brethren named Langston?

Multiple that number times 50 and that's how much sense this shite makes

I'm thinking off all the good men and women in law enforcement that have been needlessly murdered just to advance an agenda. What about their families? What about their lives?

The difference between these men and the ones that they are crying about it that these officers died defending the law while M Brown, Sterling, etc all died breaking the law
