Whoops, premature submission...

Yes, good luck on collecting those funds.

I do think it is interesting that a thread a few days had dad after dad after dad talking about how much their lives and perspectives changed after their kids were born. You guys honestly don't think the same could happen for women? That they thought they had family and work and parenting all figured out and then once the baby was born perspectives completely changed and different decisions may be made?

I had a male boss hire me, his wife had a baby, he got 3 months maternity leave which he used to interview for a new job and when he returned he resigned that morning. I thought it was trashy

Yeah, we got some guys who abuse vacation time. One guy uses all of his vacation time every year another guy turned in his notice and expected to be paid out his built up time......
Next thing you know they will want to keep the company 401k contributions with them when they leave

Clearly you are a “dude” talking about the “chicks” that take maternity leave. When was the last time you stayed home and took care of an infant?? I’m going to guess never, since you’re thread is so juvenile.

My mom did this, and I think it's sketchy as hell.

You used two question marks to end a sentence, thirteen-year-olds text like that.

You work to provide for yourself and your family. (Most) women work to get it out of the way so they can have someone provide for them.

I knew about 3 months in advance that we would be moving a month after we had baby #2. My immediate supervisor knew and understood why I was hesitant to give notice so far in advance.

We went to the boss and he asked why I was hesitant to give notice far in advance and I was concerned re:insurance coverage being cut (crazy I guess).

Anyway, they were fine with it as long as I went back to work my two weeks which was always my intention.

They were able to find a replacement and I was able to train her. Worked out fine.

The employer doesn't have to give paid time off. If they see it as a problem, they shouldn't give it. If they don't give a crap, then continue.

It's either quit or pay for day care. That income is pretty much gone either way.

Now in order to get the paid maternity leave the employee must agree to remain with the company for a year. If they quit before the year then they owe the company back a prorated amount of their paid leave.

This is sort of our policy. Have to be with the company a year to get paid leave. You get eight weeks and you can extend it using PTO if you want. If you leave the company within one year of coming back, you have to pay what you earned on leave back to the company. I’m about to take my second maternity leave and I think it is more than fair.
