I’m aware. But we can’t have those healthy people getting fat either. Hence why they don’t get fried foods.

Adding another.

- Stop all repair services. You either fix it yourself or buy something brand new Online. Having someone come repair your fridge is reckless as it brings a stranger into your home. All that food isn’t worth the life of a family member.

I’m ok with this, but I’d rather not use BMI but rather body fat %

frick this noise. Especially in the younger range. I’d be ok with the upper age limit being raised, but I really don’t like this.

Just don’t socialize health care with taxes and this wouldn’t matter.

- Must visit primary care doc once a year or face a tax penalty. Twice a year for 50 and older.

Not a bad idea at all. Also as you get older require vision and reaction screening. Once you get a % off your baseline you get your DL revoked. I’d much rather this than an arbitrary age cut off.

No. Just no

I can’t imagine how long it would take to get an appointment for mandatory pcp requirements.

Already a requirement in Medicaid and related kids programs. Those populations are offered gift card incentives to take their well visits.

- ban and confiscate all guns
- ban consumption of red meat
- ban all opioid pain meds
- require everyone to exercise 1 hour 5 time per week.

Each of the above would save more lives than the current covid measures will save.

I was with you until this. Ban the sale of machine made cigars. Premium hand rolled cigars should be in their own category.

for the months of September -January “large venue” is defined as a single building that holds over 800,000 people.
anything smaller is exempt.

Ban soda and kool-aid from the poors.
Diabetes induced amputations would go away.

Would you believe anything a used car salesman tells you? You d do well to look at your doctor the same way. The first thing they think about is ( billing & income ) 2 nd ? Can I get another visit from him ? Last is your actual health. Next one in line.

Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States, including more than 41,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure. This is about one in five deaths annually, or 1,300 deaths every day. On average, smokers die 10 years earlier than nonsmokers.

Here's a thought exercise...

Which is more of a knee jerk reaction:

1)Patriot act and the war on terror (including Afghanistan) in response to 3,000 New Yorkers getting killed on 9/11?

Or

2)The response to covid after killing tens of thousands of Americans?

I choose 3. The Response to covid before 100 Americans were killed.

There were virtually no restrictions in place for anyone before 100 people were killed by covid.

You think that was a bigger knee jerk reaction than the creation of an entire surveillance apparatus and a war overseas, and the mass quarantining recently?

it wasn’t created. It was expanded.

Most wars were started over much, much less.

Wrong. The shutdowns began on March 13th. I remember the day vividly because I was in Nola going to see a comedy show before it was canceled 45 minutes prior to starting. From wiki on that day:
quote:

The United States confirmed 612 new cases, bringing the total number to 2,816. One of the cases was 24-year-old Christian Wood of the Detroit Pistons.[595][596] Eleven more deaths were reported, bringing the total number to 60

Lordy! I am sure many of you are staunch supporters of “No shoes, no shirt, no service“ and banning sagging pants, all while whining about businesses that require masks for customers
