I like the G Wagon just cause you don't see them that much. Every other house in River Ranch has a Range Rover parked in their driveway.

Range Rover owners a little on the dumb side

When I’m at a stop light and see a Range Rover, I cant help but laugh and think how frustrating it must be to own the most unreliable vehicle made. Think about that, you’re going to pay top dollar for a piece of shite vehicle??? Why? Folks, there are more desirable status symbols out there. You failed big time if you’re driving one to impress.

Only people that should own Range Rovers are people that don’t have to work to afford the more and the maintenance bill.

If you have to work to pay for a RR you deserve everything that RR gives you

It's easy to hate on Range Rovers, but they sure are pretty. And they have a tailgate! The resale value of the new body style is exponentially better than the last one - I think they've fixed some reliability issues.

However, if I'm spending ~$120k I'm buying:

1) 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo

2) 2019 Mercedes G Wagen - no more solid front axle, but they made it drive good allegedly.

3) And a Land Cruiser for the wife, obviously. With the painted ARBs for safety or whatever.

I prefer the 45 wagon, but to each their own. Update the interior, drop in a V8, and crawl all over Kingdom Come.

Serious question, it's widely known Range Rovers are not reliable and have huge repair cost. Seems like this has been the case for a long while with many model years. Why doesn't Range Rover correct the issue to lose the bad reputation? Also, is it one specific area that is the problem....transmission, suspension, electronics, or is it across the board.

As the same with some people, I love they way they look, but every time I see one, I look at the driver and see if I can sense the fear they are about to be left on the side of the road.

Here is your answer:
From Jalopnik
LINK

quote:

I had the chance to get up close and personal with a 2013 Land Cruiser, which is the model I want. And do you know what I discovered? The turn signal stalk is from a Toyota Sienna. The steering wheel is from a Toyota Tundra. The window switches are from a Toyota Camry. The Land Cruiser – the mighty Land Cruiser, with its go-anywhere persona and its near-$90,000 price tag – is a parts bin special.

quote:

Here’s why: have you ever sat in a Range Rover? I mean, seriously. The thing is gorgeous. It’s beautiful. The interior is filled with perfectly woven leather and handsome electronics and a lot of other stuff you can’t afford and shouldn’t touch with your grimy little meathooks. It’s the perfect automotive accessory for the kind of person who pays $84 for a designer clothes hanger at the kind of designer furniture store where the salesperson sneers at you even if you buy something.

quote:

And it’s not just the Land Cruiser that suffers from this parts bin issue. Ultimately, the Infiniti QX80 shares many interior components with other, cheaper Infiniti models. The Escalade is just a really nice Tahoe. The Lincoln Navigator is an outdated dinosaur. The Mercedes G-Wagen is really the only SUV that offers the same level of bespoke character as the Range Rover – but most Range Rover people I talk to (including myself) think the G-Wagen goes a little too far down the “a-hole” scale for serious consideration. NOTE: If your car is “too a-hole” for Range Rover buyers, it may be time to start dialing it back a little.

A buddy in high school had one, that car was baller. I would rather have a Defender than a Range Rover

A true “OT Baller” wouldn’t give a shite what the OT thought or seek some pitiful validation of what they waste their money on . . . Thus, you are just a pretentious wanna-be.

I keep one at the house in the Hamptons but I refuse to let my driver chauffer me around New Orleans in one along side all the trashy 4 wheelers. I need something that won't drag them underneath it when they cut in front of me.

No they didn’t. A good friend owns a 2017 Range Rover and it’s constantly in for repairs. They’ve already replaced the motor in it! He says, frick it, they give me a brand new 2018 to drive while it’s in the shop. It’s been in the shop about 90 Days this past year.

Sorry. I’ll pass. Too many other nicer vehicles out there in that price point - and they run too! AmaIng.

Don’t get me started I hate them.
My wives Range Rover lives in the shop.
You would expect a $115k vehicle to not have the problems this one has had.
