You realize you are at the same exact health risks of obese people, right?

Did a physical last year. Everything came back great. Doc told me to lose about 10 lbs.

I don't "eat bad" but I don't punish myself with stream water and quinoa either.

There is no difference between obese people and skinny fats. They have the same leptin set points, same eating habits, same muscle mass. Skinny fats are at the same risk of health issues as obese people are.

Obese people actually tend to have normal amounts of muscle mass. Sometimes better than average.

Same eating habits? No. Takes quite a bit of eating to maintain 400 lbs.

The only difference between a skinny fat and an obese is that obese people just have the genetics that cause them to store more fat.

No. Skinny fat is when you do cardio/calorie restriction to lose weight with no weight training. You lose a lot of muscle mass in the process.

Obese people have eating disorders. That's why they are so big.

Yeah, skinny fat exists, but it is untrue that you are at the exact risks of an obese person. You may not be healthy, but you are not at the same rick level as an obese person. Tons of obese people lose weight simply counting calories and eating whatever junk they want within their caloric limit. And then when they visit their doctor, bloodwork comes out glowing.

Skinny fat refers to losing weight without working out, so you have no muscle definition. Some say neglecting to pay attention to macros can lead to skinny fat as well, but that really depends on what you're eating.
Either way.. Nobody is shoving thousands of calories down their gullet and staying skinny due to good metabolism or genetics.

Why are the fatties at work the people that eat the healthiest at work?

They're continuously struggling to lose weight, while their thin counterparts might be able to do salads for a week and lose the few pounds needed. So you'll see the heavy people doing the salad thing more often.

First of all, genetics had a lot to do with it.

According to statistics nearly 70% of Americans are overweight and 35% are obese. Now we have had about maybe 13 people respond in this thread all responding negatively towards fat people. I am guilty of this also, but there is no way in hell everyone in this thread is not overweight. Now which one of you fat asses are faking the funk. Who in here is fat shaming when you yourself is indeed fat. Now I will admit I can stand to lose about 12 pounds so there I fell better now. But who else needs to come clean.

It really depends how they are measuring this. When I was in excellent shape the BMI which is retarded had me as overweight.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. I don't come from a family of obese people. Once I got out of the military, I got a desk job and got lazy.

Genetics has a lot to do with like 99% of our health. Acne, crooked teeth, cancer risks, balding, heart disease are all genetic but obesity isn't? Come on.

I get there is always a choice factor involved. That doesn't change the DNA though. People with a genetic predisposition to obesity are going to have a much harder time staying thin than someone else.

I am 6'1" and weigh, as of a doctor visit three weeks ago, 175.

I'm pretty sure that isn't overweight. Ideally I'd like to weigh 165.

I saw your pictures and that is not fat. You could still see your ribs for gods sake.

I am now at 156 pounds and 10% body fat and I look WAY better. Go to the PutDaForkDown thread on the Food Board and find my before & after pic I posted. I was 187 in my before pic, and looked like a total fat arse. But according to you, I was normal.

What you feel good at is what you feel good at. All i'm saying is that weight is distributed differently on everyone, and to say a 6' guy that weighs 185lbs is overweight isnt' always true.
My best friend can't weight more than 175lbs regardless of what he does. His metabolism just won't allow it. Back when we used to work out a lot i was about 225, him at 175. If you saw a picture from our waist up you'd think we both weighed about 200 and were in very good shape. But i outweighed him by 50lbs. He has twigs for legs and i have tree trunks. He'd barely push out 3 sets of 10 on the leg press with 250lbs, where as i'd put as many plates as we could get on the machine and do 3 sets of 10.
We both were in great shape, flat stomachs, still very athletic, both strong upper bodies, but our legs were no where near comparison.
With my legs, when i weighed 175 back in high school, i was weak as could be. I did not like how i felt at 175. Once my upper body caught up and i was weighing about 200 was when i looked and felt the best athletically. the 225 me was a meathead and i'd get asked all the time by old high school friends if i was on steroids b/c i was still in great shape.
Then i got married, started drinking a lot of beer, had kids, and now i'm fat and lazy.
