Other than the song, what the f*ck does West Virginia have going for itself? It’s literally just the hillbilly part of what used to be northwestern Virginia.
West Virginia is one of the most beautiful states in the Union. Just spectacular scenery.
I'll be going through there in October.

Rhode Island
Is actually a pretty nice place to visit.
Sure if you just passing thru on 95 I get it.. lot more to offer here tho. Westerly>watch hill>great beaches>south county near URI more great beaches and restaurants> Jamestown >natural beauty great state park in beaverhead>Then over to Newport. Gilded age Mansions and a pretty nice downtown sea wharf area... not to mention Fort Adams.
Providence is a shithole tho outside of federal hill.. which is a pretty nice restaurant district will a bunch of old school Italian joints. Only thing worth going to PVD for is when the NCAAT comes to town every few years. Ab the one thing they get right in the NE. They love their college hoops.

Uh, the beauty of the state is the one thing it does have going for it. Driving through West Virginia is pretty memorable.

I totally agree with you, but that’s not the question presented in the OP.
I really like Rhode Island, and I’ll drive there just for a Dell’s in the summer because they are that good.
But TBH it’s a pretty forgettable state. Maybe not the most, but it’s on the short list.

Vermont is gorgeous! A lot of it is untouched.

guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I wouldnt consider the Newport Cliffwalk forgettable.. or the mansions, or some of the great seafood we have down here.. buying lobster right off the boat, matunuck oyster bar (oyster straight out the water onto your plate), crazy burger, coast guard house, etc etc etc.
Dells kinda overrated IMO. Lotta other cool unique RI food tho. Pizza strips, NY system hot dogs, Coffee Milk (there's a farm that deliver it straight to your house .. drool). I could go on and on.
Eta- gonna make any watch parties thus year? Will be hard to top baseball tavern. Doubt P lets me out of the house anyway with the variant going around

Geographically LA is unique. There are some hidden gems around the State.
its far from the worst, in that regard.

Are you from MS? Because other than 3 counties on the coast and 1/3 of Lafayette Co. MS is a dump. And I was born there.
They have low crime, almost no traffic, low taxes, government that doesn’t really cater to the left in Washington, low cost of living, better golf than Louisiana and great outdoors.
If you are liberal I can see why you left; otherwise, the things they have are better than a whole lot of other states.

I'm sure I'm somewhat biased because I live here, but PittsburgH has quite possibly the best "entrance" of any city in the country. Beautiful city.
Yep. We'll be going there in October. Wife has never been to PA in the fall. She's in for a treat.

The beaches of Delaware are as fine as any on the lower 48.

Their politics suck, but the beaches alone excludes it from this list. Try again.

Go to the Cloudcroft resort north of Las Cruces. 8,000 ft.up. You won't be disappointed.
we did a 3 day whirlwind tour to Carlsbad Caverns, Alamogordo White Sands, and Guadalupe Peak with a friend and his son. The cutover from Carlsbad to White Sands took us through Cloudcroft and it was a nice little place. could see that being a great place to end up, albeit small.
We didn't get out between Artesia and Alamogordo but the outdoor temp on the car went from 95 in Artesia to 75 in cloudcroft to 99 in Alamogordo all in about 3 hours.
