Sounds like she wanted to drain some swamp and the swamp won

Maybe. I just dont know why you wouldn't force them to voice the reason why they want you gone, especially if you knew it was racially or politically motivated

either they had dirt or she just did the city a favor to avoid another "racist" drama circus
i think if they had dirt, we'd have seen it leaked through the Rouge Collection

I think she should've made them turn it into Brown vs BoE like they did with the COA debacle. Force them to say "She's unfit to serve because she doesn't have the right skin tone"

but if she plays that and loses, then she's basically persona non grata in all of SELA
and if she plays the card and wins, then she's a focal point for the entire race grievance industry in EBR until she leaves
frick that

I'm not saying she has to fight it. I'm saying all she has to do is ask the reasons why and force it to a vote. She can stay out of it and still force their hand.

you missed the part earlier. simply disagreeing makes her a racist and everything jumps up to 100
that's just where EBR is at right now post-St George (vol 1) and post-COA
if she resists and loses, then anyone who may hire her in the future will be attacked by the race grievance industry

Maybe someone should do a public records request for the counsel's e-mails for nov. through today

Eh, she's not "disagreeing", she's publicly asking for the reasons for her termination.

Nah, these people will be on to the next existential crisis within a few weeks.

You think the Republican councilman is a Hillary supporter? Got it.

but it sounds like Batson was just overly abrasive and not well-liked.
No, it sounds like since they represent BRPD she didn't want the other attys representing criminals arrested by BRPD, and as dept head that was her policy to make, and since Cole's buddy didn't like the rules Cole wants her out. That's what it sounds like.
She was cutting into that side hustle.

Gravy-approved. This was a woman who was white. Removing her was the right decision. Guhd aftanooooon.

The council can fire her for cause. Cause is anything they say it is. She could be fired for showing up late, or showing up early.
Nearly impossible to serve 12 masters, especially 12 people that each have their own agenda. In times past, there were 2 or 3 agendas to deal with. Now, I doubt you could the get MC to agree that it's Tuesday. Several of the Democrats hate each other, several of the Republicans hate each other, and there is no singular vision or even a semblance of one.
Lea Anne is a very smart person. She took the high road, wrote her own swan song, avoided a protracted shite show in the media, and prolly has something lined up already that leverages her intricate knowledge of how City Parish Govt works. She'll likely make more money, not have to deal with those morons, and have the last laugh.
I hope Batson applies for the City Attorney position @ St George once it passes. That would be poetic justice and I'm sure she knows where the bodies are buried.
