Agreed.

That is possibly the worst advice Ive ever seen posted on here and that's saying a lot.

The reason LA's insurance rates are the highest in the nation isn't because of the amount of accidents, it's the amount paid out

False. It's because the amount of uninsured drivers. Because of this there is a higher likelihood that one's own insurance is going to be left paying out to their own client regardless of fault. If the at fault driver is a deadbeat, he's got no insurance and no money to sue for. To make up the difference, everyone's rates go up. Your ignorance is staggering.

Most people have limits on their coverage--about 30,000. Once the insurer pays that out, the liability falls on the driver. to say that insurance companies are paying out all of these high settlements or jury awards is just plain ignorant.

It's easy to blame the Dbag attorneys with the lame catch phrases you see on TV rather than actually know what you're talking about, isn't it?

It's the same dumb group that blames lawyers for health insurance costs. They're too dumb to know that La has already been tort-reformed

I remember the Japanese making note of this being one of the biggest problems in this country and they are correct...

trying to collect on frivolous criminal defense cases for slip and fall "victims"?

This doesn't make sense, even if you meant "or" and not "for." The average person has no idea what most lawyers do. I've never handled either of those types of cases. I don't litigate at all any more, in fact. If I explained what I did most people would scratch their heads. Not bragging. My point is, there are many facets of the legal practice that the general public or even seasoned business person doesn't see.

What dipshit thought he wouldn't have to work out of law school? You have to pay your dues.

Too many shitty attorneys, not enough good ones.

Too many that can't get jobs. And the cost now is insane given the prospects.

Slip and fall is not criminal defense. That is personal injury or a Plaintiffs attorney

Don't blame the lawyers, blame the irresponsible knuckle draggers that are trying to get something for free. And slip and fall cases are very hard to prove and get a settlement. My wife used to practice this kind of law and she hated it. She dealt with the lowest forms of life all the time. She works for a much better firm now practicing different law. But you are right, lawyers don't get paid shite nowadays. You only start earning decent money when you have been practicing for a while and make partner.

THe market is oversaturated nationwide, at the moment. How many law schools does Louisiana have alone? And in Louisiana, you can only practice in louisiana if you pass the bar. If you want to practice somewhere else you have to take the bar again.

Whoa Toonces. You're a little too butt hurt about this dude. I'm probably wrong about the insurance rates, but I am definitely not about the under the table deals that PI lawyers have with chiropractors and body shops. I've worked for PI and criminal lawyers and know that it happens.
